Best Spaceman Build in Megabonk - Large Projectiles

Spaceman is not a beginner-friendly character. That said, if you have unlocked the character, you’re not really a Megabonk beginner anymore, and you’re ready to try the most effective Spaceman build of the current meta.

Size and projectile count is the name of the game for Spaceman. You want to increase the number and size of Black Hole projectiles for better crowd control and use other weapons that synergize with similar tomes to start clearing mobs, swarms, and bosses alike.

See the table below for the best Weapons, Tomes, and Items that can help you create this build.

WeaponsTomesItems
Black Hole
Dexecutioner
Katana
Bananarang/Flamewalker
Luck Tome
Cursed Tome
Size Tome
Quantity Tome
Anvil
Joe’s Dagger
Dragonfire (if you choose Flamewalker)
Turbo Skates
Slutty Canon
Backpack
Echo Shard
Turbo Socks
Battery
Scarf
Overpowered Lamp
Feathers
Gym Sauce
Power Gloves
Time Bracelet
Gym Sauce

Why It Works: Luck and Cursed Tome, combined with Spaceman’s passive, will create the same effect as the Holy Trinity Tomes. With constant and better upgrades, you’ll be ready for late-game content before you’ve even cleared Stage 1. If you get items like Anvil and Overpowered Lamp early, you can leave the Luck Tome out and pick the Cooldown Tome instead.

The weapons listed above are very important for this build. All of them scale with Size and Quantity, but you must take damage upgrades whenever they show up. Also, make sure you improve your base damage with items like Gym Sauce, Credit Card (Red), Beer, Demonic Soul, and more. That’ll make up for the missing Damage Tome.

Once in full effect, Black Hole will be creating multiple kill zones for all your secondary weapons. Dexecutioner will be executing elites and bosses while Katana clears mobs, and Bananarang slowly turns into the Banana Tornado for offense and defense.

Flamewalker is the better choice if you see Dragonfire early because then, you’ll essentially have five active weapons. Six, if you can also grab the Slutty Cannon.

Spaceman Starter Weapon and Passive

The Black Hole is Spaceman’s signature weapon. You can unlock it by picking up the Knockback Tome during a run and taking it to Level 10. The increase in Base Size with the recent patch has made it slightly less punishing at the start, but it’s still slow early.

Black Hole scales with Size, Projectile Quantity, Damage, and Duration. Prioritize Size and Projectile Quantity to get the most out of Black Hole’s crowd control abilities.

StrengthsWeaknessesPassive
Crowd control: Swarms will rarely corner you as Black Hole groups them.
Quick scaling: Spaceman’s passive makes scaling quicker and easier.
Easy synergies: Synergizes well with weapons and tomes that are effective and easy to unlock.
Slow & Weak: The early game can be very slow and punishing if you don’t get a good secondary weapon quickly.
Vulnerable to focused attacks: Bosses with lasers can one-hit you if you’re not careful.
Gain 1% XP Gain per level.

Megabonk Spaceman FAQs

How to unlock Spaceman in Megabonk?

You can unlock Spaceman in Megabonk by completing any six Challenges and unlocking the Black Hole weapon. Unlock the Black Hole weapon by taking the Knockback Tome to Level 10 during a run. You can easily complete the challenge requirements by taking on Forest and Desert Tier 1 challenges.

What are the best Tomes for Black Hole?

Black Hole scales with Size, Quantity, and Duration Tome. Size will increase the Black Hole’s size, pulling in and damaging more enemies at once. Quantity will increase the number of projectiles, and Duration will make the Black Hole last longer. Damage Tome is another good choice to increase Black Hole’s damage output, but it’s not the top choice in the current meta.

What are the best Weapons for Spaceman?

Ranged and projectile-based weapons work best with Spaceman. These scale with the same Tomes and can clear up enemies grouped by Black Hole. Use Dexecutioner, Katana, Bananarang, or even Slutty Rockets with Spaceman. Aura and Aegis can also work well if you’re going for a passive, DPS x Tank hybrid build
