How to make a Stasis Chamber in Minecraft

A nice safety net.

Minecraft is a game that tends to have much deeper mechanics than many players assume. You do everything from self-harvest dirt to making working teleporters by making unique constructions. A Stasis Chamber is interesting as it will allow you to teleport back home in an instant. This is especially helpful when you have rare materials on you.

Here's how to build a Stasis Chamber in Minecraft:

  • Make a hole that's eight blocks deep.
  • Place Soul Sand at the bottom of the hole.
  • Fill the hole with water.
  • Swim down and place a kelp plant in the Soul Sand.
  • Place a trap door over the hole with a connected daylight sensor.
  • Throw in an Ender Pearl.

Keep in mind that the formula above works for the Java version.

When the door shuts due to the sun setting, it will activate the Ender Pearl and teleport you back to base. Keep track of time to see how close you are to being teleported home, so you don't end up with any items left behind. It's also important to note that if a friend is at camp, they can manually activate the device.
