How did these Pokémon get here?

Fusing Minecraft and Pokémon has created one of the most popular mods for Minecraft: Pixelmon. This game takes the traditional rules of Pokémon and puts them into Minecraft. Players can travel from town to town, encountering and catching Pokémon along the way.

Those unfamiliar with Pokémon may struggle initially, as Pixelmon can be challenging if you aren't prepared. Here are some good tips for beginners in Pixelmon.

Craft Lots of Pokéballs

Pokéballs are how you catch Pokémon, which will be your team and survive in Pixelmon. To craft a Pokéball, you will collect three iron, three cooked acorns, and a stone button. Once you have all of these, you can craft yourself a Pokéball and catch wild Pokémon.

Train Your Pokémon

Typically at the start of Pixelmon, your Pokémon will be low level and tough to train as it is hard to find many low-level Pokémon in the wild. So run away when you need to and seek out easy Pokémon to defeat. A good choice to grind levels out is Magikarp, as it is weak Pokémon that doesn't have an offensive move before level 15.

Keep Your Pokémon Healthy

Carry lots of potions to keep your Pokémon's health up. You can also head to Pokémon Centers to heal your Pokémon, so knowing where one is located is a good idea. Another way to heal your Pokémon is to sleep in a bed.

Items Can Be Found In The Wild

You can get items from other places besides the Pokémart. Keep an eye out for hidden items. These can be potions, TMs, status healing items, and more. Finding them in the wild lets you save some money and find some stuff that might not be in the store.

Don't Neglect The Minecraft Stuff

Despite the Pokémon, Pixelmon is still Minecraft which means you can use the knowledge of that game here. Some stuff works differently with this mod, but overall you can rely on most things remaining the same.
