MLB: The Show 22 has a slightly improved Road to the Show mode that allows more freedom over your player's development. If you choose to pitch in Road to the Show, you can change your pitches right away.
Go to My Ballplayer on the Road to the Show menu to change your pitches, then select Loadout. Your pitches are located on the right side of the screen, and you can scroll over each icon to add, change, or delete a pitch from that slot.

Each pitch has its own attributes that can be improved by throwing that pitch in games and practicing during off-days. You can view each pitch's stats by selecting the pitch in the loadout and looking at the pitch's velocity, break, and control attributes.
During off-days, you will have the option to train at different facilities. You can improve the attributes of your pitches by going to the bullpen, just make your you have all the pitches you want to use in your loadout. Training sessions that have mini-games reward the most attribute improvements and are identified by the joystick icon in the corner of the training session.
