Named for their auburn fur, these Bishaten subspecies stuff their belly pouches with pinecones. They use these pinecones to pelt hunters with and then use their breath attacks to ignite them.

They are two main elements you can use against Blood Orange Bishaten. Water is the best element to use, followed by Thunder. You can use Ice, but its effectiveness is nowhere near as great as Water/Thunder. Don't use Fire or Dragon, as Blood Orange Bishaten is immune.

For Blood Orange Bishaten it's best to utilize Cutting weapons and focus on the wings and tail. Sure, more damage is dealt by aiming at the head, but if you are in a party with a Blunt/Ammo user, the Head is where they should strike.

Blood Orange Bishaten Status resistances and ailment effectiveness in MHR Sunbreak

Blast is great against Bishaten if you lack any other elemental weapon. All ailments work on Blood Orange Bishaten, however, they will be slow to take effect. Inflicting Waterblight from Mudbeetle should be the first thing you do, as this increases all damage dealt to the beast.

There's multiple ways to get monster parts, but it all heavily revolves around a percentage system, which is ultimately RNG. You may get a rare item or none at all.

  • There are multiple ways of gaining items:
    • You can normally carve three times once the monster is dead, but this can change with skills and the type of monster
    • All chopped appendages of said monster can usually be carved once
    • Capturing the monster instead of killing it can alter the percentage of rewards
    • Breaking monster parts, claws, and wings increases the odds of getting more parts
    • From obtaining the white drops that fall from the monster
    • Gaining rewards for completing your quest
