Where to get a Powercharm in Monster Hunter World

Powercharms are not obtainable if you're just starting the game. You'll first need to progress the main story until you get to Horned Tyrant Below the Sands, which has you facing off against the diabolical Diablos for the first time. Diablos is all about deadly charges, so watch out for those horns when you face off against it.

Once you've slayed or captured Diablos, thus completing his specific main quest, head to the Provision Stockpile in Astera. Here you'll find your usual assortment of purchasable goods as well as the Powercharm you're after. Make sure you're not low on cash when you go to buy one, as they cost 36000 Zenny to purchase.

When you've bought your Powercharm, you'll want to keep it in your Item Pouch and not your stash. Powercharms only increase your attack as long as it remains in your Item Pouch. Unfortunately, this means that you'll always have one less slot from now on, but the damage boost is worth it.

What is an Armorcharm in Monster Hunter World?

When going to buy the Powercharm, you may also see another item with a similar name in the goods list. This is the Armorcharm. It functions the same way a Powercharm does, but instead of boosting damage, it boosts your defense as long as it remains in your Item Pouch. Generally, you want to buy this along with the Powercharm, as they are just free stats with the only cost being one of your inventory slots. It can also be purchase from the Provision Stockpile in Astera for 24000 Zenny.

Monster Hunter World - Powertalon and Armortalon, explained

Eventually, you'll gain the ability to upgrade your Powercharm and Armorcharm through crafting to create stronger versions. These items naturally improve how much damage and defense you gain from keeping them in your Item Pouch. To get them, you'll first need to obtain a Bazelgeuse Talon for each charm and combine them via crafting to obtain your Powertalon and Armortalon. That's it.

One important thing to note about these talons is that they stack with their charm counterparts. What this means is that you'll want to go ahead and buy both a Powercharm and Armorcharm a second time, so that you can continue to gain their benefits as well. As such, to be a well-equipped hunter, you'll want to have a Powercharm, Armorcharm, Powertalon, and Armortalon all sitting in your Item Pouch at the same time.
