Can you play Monster Hunter World offline?

If you are wondering if you can play Monster Hunter World offline, the answer is a complicated yes. You just can't do it from within the game, Monster Hunter World does not include an offline mode which you can select. Instead, you must use a workaround that disables your internet connection altogether.

The easiest way to do this is to unplug your ethernet cable or turn off your wifi. On consoles, you can turn off your internet connection by accessing Network in your settings. You can also do the same on PC by accessing Network/Wifi settings.

Another method, if you are playing on a PC, is to run Steam in offline mode. You can run Steam in offline mode by clicking on the Steam name in the top left of the Steam app. After clicking Steam, select Go Offline to switch Steam from running online to offline. Running Steam in Offline mode disables all online features in Monster Hunter World, allowing you to play the game offline. If you want to switch the game back to Online, select Steam at the top left of the Steam app and select Go Online.
