Monster Hunter Rise Easiest Weapons for Beginners

The best weapon is the sword. That is an axe. That morphs into a shield. Shooting fire. And swords.

Monster Hunter Rise is a game whose weapons fundamentally change the gameplay experience. The playstyles have always varied in the Monster Hunter series, and this installment is no different, allowing players to experiment with a variety of tactics. It comes as naturally that not all weapons are beginner friendly. This guide will give you a list of more suitable weapons for those just starting out in the game!

What are the best beginner weapons in Monster Hunter Rise?

5. Switch Axe

The Switch Axe is a very versatile weapon because it can switch between being a longsword and an axe. Here are the main features of those two modes:

  • The axe mode allows for more powerful but cumbersome attacks. The attack pattern is more narrow and allows for close combat engagements.
  •  The sword mode has faster, lighter strikes with wider swings and a more extended range.

One of the main features that make it beginner-friendly is the Invincible Gambit, which will send your character into a spin toward the enemy. During this time, you will have knockback immunity to the attacks while gaining damage and movement speed buffs.

4. Charge Blade

The Charge Blade is similar to the Switch Axe, but this weapon can morph into a shield instead of switching from axe to sword. This weapon is also very versatile because you can play offensively and switch to defense when things get dangerous or you make a mistake and over-commit.

The main reason this weapon is so beginner-friendly is its Morphing Advance which morphs your weapon into an axe and deals massive damage. This, combined with a shield, makes the weapon a great tool for beginners and advanced users.

3. Hammer

You can charge most weapons in Monster Hunter Rise to do significant damage, and the Hammer is no exception. This weapon is distinctive from others because you can move around while you charge it. This ability makes you more mobile and less prone to punishing mistakes from bad positioning, which of course, is ideal for beginners. It also specializes in dealing the K.O. damage, knocking the monsters out after you deal sufficient damage to their head, which is always satisfying!

2. Bow

The first thing that comes to mind with Bows in all games is distance. The Bow is a long-range weapon in Monster Hunter Rise that allows you to play safely away from dangerous enemies.

It has excellent base damage, and like most of the weapons in this game, it can also be charged to make it even deadlier. This, combined with its mobility and versatility, makes it one of the most beginner-friendly weapons in the game.

1. Sword And Shield

The main selling point of the Sword and Shield is its simplicity. Most weapons in Monster Hunter Rise have particular mechanics that set them apart. To utilize such weapons to their fullest potential, you need to master and use those mechanics well. The Sword and Shield have no complex elements you need to keep an eye on. You can shield yourself from the enemy attack with the Shield and use it to bludgeon them. The Sword can be used for quick and close attacks on enemies. This straightforwardness, combined with the damage, makes the Sword and Shield the most beginner-friendly weapon you can have in Monster Hunter Rise.
