During the Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Digital Event on March 15, 2022 (via Monster Hunter's YouTube channel), Capcom announced that Monster Hunter Rise would receive a title update alongside the expansion. It's a large install, taking up 13GB alone on the Nintendo Switch.

The update adjusts weapon balance, adds Character Edit Vouchers, and adds item packs for all players to enjoy, not just those who purchase the Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak DLC. Those interested in online play must download this update to retain online functionality.

To build anticipation for Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, Capcom also announced that a free game trial would be available until March 17, 2022, for all Nintendo Switch Online subscribers in Europe, North America, and Australia.
