Octopath Traveler 2 Ochette Best Monsters

Ochette really stands out from the rest of the cast in Octopath Traveler 2 due to her ability to catch monsters. This isn't a mechanic players will want to ignore, since some of the monsters Ochette can nab have incredible capabilities. In fact, it's likely optimal to farm certain locations to get a strong grouping of monsters before completing the tougher in-game content.

Which Monsters should Ochette capture in Octopath Traveler 2?

Headless Horseman

This monster is found in the Tranquil Grotto, which can be found east of the Kingdom of Ku in Octopath Traveler 2. This monster has several things going for it: it unleashes a strong sword attack, it hits every enemy, and it gives the party extra Attack and Critical Hit rate.

Woodland Birdking III

To find this monster, search through the woods outside Timberain. The Woodland Birdking not only hits every enemy with a Polearm attack, but it raises the speed of the entire party. This could allow some members of the party to act again before the enemy can attack.

Thunder Catfish

The Thunder Catfish releases a huge AOE Lightning Attack that melts through mid-game enemies. To find it, players simply need to swim through the waters of Mount Lyphia, which is found just west of the Flamechurch Cathedral.

Light Revenant

This monster can be picked up in the Cavern of Waves, which is found above the port on Toto'haha. The Light Revenant has a super powerful AOE Light-based attack that can shred enemies to pieces. It's a good idea to have the Light Revenant available when Temenos is benched, since many late-game enemies are weak to Light attacks.

Any of the Guardians

There is a Guardian for every elemental attack in Octopath Traveler 2 (Fire, Ice, Lighting, Wind, Light and Dark). These are found in indoor areas (e.g. the Wind Guardian is found in the factory in Clockbank). These Guardians come in handy since they can hit elemental weaknesses that other party members may not be able to cover.
