Best Flat Base Locations in Palworld

Gotta set up near that Ore.

A lot of factors can go into deciding where to place your base in Palworld. Ideally, you want flat ground wide enough for lots of structures, somewhere that doesn't get raided often, close to lots of ore, etc. Fortunately, there are several places in the game that meet all these requirements.

Which are the best places to build your base in Palworld?

Beneath the Plateau of Beginnings (coordinates: 263, -529)

Certainly, the quickest base to build in Palworld would be one by the first Travel Point. This area just up the hill from the beach has a lot of things going for it, though. There is one entrance and one exit, plenty of room to build loads of machines, and even some stone lying around to help build pickaxes and the like.

North of Desolate Church (coordinates 66, -405)

Anyone who's played Palworld can likely attest to the fact that Ore is good. Ore is very good. Therefore, it's smart to have at least one base by a group of Ore. North of the Desolate Church is a very wide area that is just begging to have a base built there. It's a good midgame base area, where you can get ore for the midgame tools and have a little extra room for the high amount of Pals you would be able to employ at this stage.

Fort Ruins (coordinates: 182, -391)

If you want an easy time defending from raids, Fort Ruins is your spot. This area is already sealed off by walls with several towers you can sit atop and snipe enemies from afar. There aren't too many Ore deposits here, so it makes more sense to make this a home base. It only requires a small amount of building to make this a fortified castle, though.

Western Sea Breeze Archipelago (-194, -702)

This area really just has lots of open land to build with. Sea Breeze Archipelago is one of the more calming areas of the game, with lots of room and low-level Pals roaming the area. Speaking of Pals, you can find several good options to have including Eikthydeer (mount), Rooby (Fire for making Ingots), and Pengullet (good for watering plants).

West of Small Settlement (coordinates: 10, -530)

Across the bridge and south from the Small Settlement lies one of the best Ore deposits in the game. It can be found early on, and it's home to a wide area with plenty of Ore deposits around. Raiders can only come from the north, making them easy to pick off if you build the base to the east of the area. It's also far away from any of the Travel Points, so it's always nice to have a warp point in an area that won't normally have one.
