Where to get a Shadowbeak in Palworld (Map)

Shadowbeak is part of a boss fight in Palworld—specifically, the very last boss fight (Victor and Shadowbeak in the Snow Biome), at coordinates -142, 437. This is a location where you'll have the opportunity to catch one as boss, but it will be far more challenging. Instead, you could head over to the circular island on the upper northeast side of the map and catch a wild one there. This island is separated from the main island of the map by a good distance of water, so the easiest way to get there is to use a flying mount.

How to catch Shadowbeak in Palworld

It's doable to capture the Shadowbeak from the Victor and Shadowbeak boss fight; however, you will want to be around level 50+ to take this on. It will also require efficient gear, like cold-resistant armor, high-damaging weapons like a Legendary Crossbow, and some higher-tier Pals. Dragon Type Pals will have a boost on damage on Shadowbeak since they are a Dark Pals, so if you have any higher-level Dragon pals, bring them along for the fight.

To capture a Shadowbeak in the wild vs. the boss fight, you won't have to worry about as much of a challenge. However, you will have the difficulty of getting there. This is in the upper northeast corner of the map, which means you will have to attempt either to swim or use a flying mount to get there. Shadowbeaks in the wild are still a higher level Pal, so ensure you utilize a Dragon Pal and weapons and defenses to lower their HP and then use a Legendary Sphere to attempt a capture.

Alternatively to catching a Shadowbeak, you can also breed one. To start breeding, you'll need a Breeding Farm. The Breeding Farm is unlocked in Technology 19 and crafted for 100 Wood, 20 Stone, and 50 Fiber. Breeding a Shadowbeak is done by placing one male and one female of the correct Pal combinations to get an egg. The combination of Pals to use is Kitsun + Astegon.

Place the two Pals into the Breeding Farm and then put a Cake inside a chest beside it. After a little while, they will drop an egg for you to collect. Now, you can start the hatching process. Place the egg in an Egg Incubator. This is unlocked in Ancient Technology 7 and crafted with 30 Stone, 5 Cloth, and 2 Ancient Civilization Parts. Place the egg in the Incubator, and then wait for the egg to hatch. You can speed up the process by placing a heat source, like a campfire, beside the Incubator.
