Yes, you can actually do this.

Humans in Palworld can be captured just like Pals. All you have to do is lower their HP and throw a Pal Sphere like you normally would.

Most humans you'll encounter in Palworld—such as Syndicate Thugs and Free Pal Devouts—will attack you on sight, so be ready for a fight. Humans also tend to spawn in groups, so you'll have to dodge multiple attacks while attempting to catch them. I suggest bringing a tanky Pal like Lamball with you to draw their attacks so you can whittle down their HP.

In my experience, humans are more difficult to catch than regular Pals. Even low-level NPCs will break out of Pal Spheres with ease; bring lots of Mega Spheres and try to inflict status conditions like Burning or Poison to increase your capture rate. You'll need to reduce the human's HP as much as possible without completely knocking them out.

While humans can spawn randomly around the overworld, they can also be found at camps. These camps don't have icons on your map, but can be spotted from a distance by smoke pillars from their campfires.

The most accessible human camp is just north of the Rayne Syndicate Tower Entrance (indicated by the star in the picture above). This is a camp of Syndicate Thugs near a fast travel point that is guaranteed to spawn humans, even if you've wiped out the camp before. The Syndicate Thugs here are relatively low-level and are thus easy to catch.

What do humans do in Palworld?

Once caught, humans function the same way Pals do. You can add them to your party, have them work at your base, and even use the Meat Cleaver on them. They have passive skills the same way Pals do, and even come with decent stats.

However, humans do not possess Partner Skills and will not use the weapons you captured them with. For example, my Syndicate Thug only has the move Punch, and cannot fire his gun despite still having it while in my party. Curiously, they also don't have an image in the details menu.

How to sell humans in Palworld

One particularly devious use for captured humans is selling them to the Black Marketeer. The Black Marketeer is an NPC that can be found in the Abandoned Mineshaft, west of the Desolate Church (pictured above). He also occasionally spawns at random in the overworld.

While Pal Merchants will buy and sell Pals, they will not purchase captured humans. The Black Marketeer, however, will buy humans for upwards of 300 gold coins each. This is the most practical use for captured humans as, aside from their novelty, they make for weaker party members and laborers compared to Pals.
