How to get Astegon in Palworld – Map Location & Breeding

Astegon is one of the most sought-after dark types of Pal in Palworld. The main reason is its high mining (level 4) and working skills, making it extremely useful/suitable for handling ore mining bases.

So, if you want an army of Astegon to scale your ore mining production, here is a complete guide to finding and beating Astegon in Palworld.

Where is Astegon in Palworld? (Map)

I found Astegon boss at the -612,-429 coordinates in the Volcanic North Western part of the map. Since it is a hot location with scorching temperatures, I suggest you equip all the required heat protective accessories like Heat Resistant Refined Metal Armor or Heat Resistant Pal Armor and Heat Resistant Underwear.

On the other hand, if you are looking for Astegon wild spawn (the non-boss type) they are on the other side of the map at the given location in a sanctuary. You can find them roaming all around the given habitat.

How to catch Astegon in Palworld

Astegon is one of the most challenging boss fights in Palworld. So, I would only recommend it for players above level 35 who have unlocked almost every technology below tier 40. Others can try their luck, but it will be a hard-won battle.

I carried a Legendary Crossbow for the battle. If you don't have one, you can use a Single Shot Assault Rifle for the fight or anything with a damage output above 300. Carry around 1000 arrows or bullets, depending upon your weapon type. Also, equip any Water, Ice, or Dragon-type Pals for the battle, as all these types are effective against Dark and Dragon Pals. I took my Jormuntide. But, like the weapons, you can bring any other Pals that fit the description.

After gearing up, enter the cave of the Astegon through the Destroyed Mineshaft (-571, -412). Use the below image for a pictorial reference for the entrance.

During the battle, you must evade two attacks from Astegon - an orb from the mouth and a continuous laser attack. For both, keep rolling and promptly dodging as they move towards you. Apart from that, the fight is simple. Command your Pals to target Astegon aggressively while you shower bullets/arrows at the head of the Pal. Once the HP of the boss reaches around 300, throw an Ultra Sphere to capture Astegon.

How to breed an Astegon in Palworld

If you don't want to collect Astegon, you can always breed an Astegon at your base. To breed an Astegon, you would require a male Relaxaurus and a female Suzaku or vice versa to get an Astegon in Palworld. So, if you have the prescribed two Pals, make an army of Astegon at the comfort of your base.
