How to get Paldium Fragments in Palworld

What are those shiny blue rocks for?

While Pal Spheres and the Palbox are some of the first items you'll be prompted to craft in Palworld, you'll likely be missing a key ingredient: Paldium Fragments. Below, you'll learn everything you need to know about finding and collecting Paldium Fragments in Palworld.

Paldium Fragments are one of the most important resources you'll come across in Palworld. Luckily, they're also one of the most common. Paldium Fragments can be harvested from sparkling blue rocks found in Windswept Hills, pictured above. They typically spawn in clusters of one to three rocks at a time, and like most resource nodes in Palworld, will regenerate after a day or so.

If you're eager to get your hands on some Paldium Fragments right away, you can punch Paldium rocks bare-handed to collect them. However, I highly recommend crafting a pickaxe first and using it to mine Paldium rocks instead. A pickaxe will greatly reduce the time you'll spend trying to break a Paldium rock, and you'll receive a lot more fragments for your trouble.

To craft a pickaxe, head to your workbench and open the crafting menu. Choose the Stone Pickaxe, then select Start Production to craft it. You'll need five stone and five wood to make it, so be sure to pick up any rocks or branches you find on the ground. Once you're finished crafting, add the pickaxe to your inventory, then equip it in your hand. From there, simply walk up to any Paldium rock and break it, either by holding LMB on keyboard or right trigger on controller.

What are Paldium Fragments used for in Palworld?

As mentioned, Paldium Fragments are a vital resource in Palworld. You'll need them to craft a variety of different items, but the two most important ones are Pal Spheres and the Palbox. Pal Spheres are necessary for capturing Pals, similar to Poké Balls, while the Palbox allows you to store and manage your tamed Pals. You will need both items to progress in Palworld.

How to build a Palbox in Palworld

To build a Palbox, enter build mode and scroll to the Pal tab in the menu. At the beginning of the game, this tab is pretty scarce; your only option will be the Palbox. Select it, and you'll see a faint outline appear in front of you. The Palbox must be built in an open space; if the outline is red, you need to choose a different spot. If the Palbox's outline is blue, then you're free to place it there. The Palbox costs one Paldium Fragment, eight wood, and three stone to build.

Once you're done building the Palbox, a blue border will appear in a large circle around it. This circle marks the edge of your base, where you'll spend your time building and crafting in Palworld. Any Pals you've placed at your base will stay here and gather resources for you.

How to craft Pal Spheres in Palworld

Crafting Pal Spheres is simple; like the pickaxe, simply approach your workbench and choose the crafting recipe from the menu. You can choose the number of Pal Spheres you'd like to craft; I recommend making at least five to start out with. However, the more Pal Spheres you craft, the more expensive they become. Each Pal Sphere costs one Paldium Fragment, three wood, and three stone to make.
