Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous allows you to play as a writing swarm of insects. You must unlock the Swarm-That-Walks Mythic Path to do this. You can learn how to unlock this Mythic Path below.
There are many steps you must follow to unlock this path making it one of the more difficult paths to unlock. The other thing to note is that if you follow through with this Mythic Path, all of your companions will abandon you as this is a very evil path.

At the beginning of Chapter 2, do not take the Queen with you on the Crusade. If you bring the Queen with you, you will be locked out of this path. When you arrive in Leper's Smile, slay the Vescavor Queen and collect a sample of bug goop. Use it in the battle for Drezen.
At the beginning of Chapter 3, you will be given a quest to determine what happened to the remaining Vescavors. In one of the houses in Drezen, you will discover a Vescavor Queen. Do not kill it as doing so will lock you out of the path. Sparing the Queen will complete the quest.
Eventually, you will come face to face with a Swarm-That-Walks. This is Xanthir Vang, also known as Xanthir the Plagued One. This boss encounter is part of the story and you cannot bypass it. After defeating Xanthir Vang, speak with him and ask how he became a swarm. He will allow you to look at his notes. You need to read either his journal or his apprentice's journal to complete this step.
A popup will inform you that you have learned something and a new Crusade Quest will start called Xanthir's Experiment. Click on the Pass Decree. At this point, Anevia will warn you that your companions are concerned with your research into swarms. Do not pick the I don't know what came over me option and you will be able to become the Swarm-That-Walks. Complete all of the research tasks before Chapter 4.
At the beginning of Chapter 5, you will return to Drezen to hunt down the Vescavor Queen you spared earlier. Kill the Queen and select the Devour the Queen option. You can only do so if you have completed Xanthir's research. After devouring the Queen you will have unlocked the Swarm-That-Walks Mythic Path.
