Payday 3 is an interesting game for the wrong reasons. The game just doesn't work as intended, primarily due to the always-online mentality that is now plaguing the industry. Payday 3 does nothing with it, making the discussion useless, and the results of that choice are now set in stone. So I'm getting a refund, and if you want one, here's how you can go for one as well.
How to get Steam to Refund Payday 3
First of all, there's no guarantee you'll get a refund for Payday 3 if you've played beyond two hours. This has nothing to do with Payday 3 itself, as it is Steam's refund policy. However, in situations where games released are so unfathomably broken that they cause a real visible public outcry, then there is potential for an actual refund. Payday 3 sits happily in this category.
To get a refund, open Steam and click on Help ---> Steam Support. Click on Payday 3, then select one of the listed options you want Steam Support for. I recommend choosing Gameplay or technical issues, as it fits best the core problem that's being echoed online about the game. From here, choose I am having another problem ---> I'd like to request a refund.
Input your refund method and explain to Steam Support that the game's constant connectivity issues are preventing you from playing the game as intended, and these same issues are being echoed online. Once you're done click Submit Request, and you're done.
All that's left to do now is to wait for Steam to account for your support request. You should hear back in a few days about whether your Payday 3 will be refunded or not. Hopefully this helps. No one should be forced to spend their hard-earned cash on a product that doesn't work as intended. Payday 3 gets no passes.
