The Persona 5 mobile spin-off titled Persona 5: The Phantom X could see a global release very soon according to Sega's latest financial report. The report states that the company is considering future expansions of the Persona mobile game as the project started off as expected.
Sega's recent financial report for the third quarter of fiscal year 2024 detailed all their current portfolio of games including the newly released Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth and Persona 3 Reload. In terms of the new Persona 5 mobile game, The Phantom X, Sega seems satisfied with its results. The key factor is that they deemed the game had ''started off as expected'' in the report, indicating player numbers and financial performance have met internal expectations. Also present in the report is that they are considering future expansions of the game in Japan as well as globally.
The Chinese version of The Phantom X was released on April 12 while the Traditional Chinese and Korean version was released on April 18. With everything going well according to Sega's expectations, the Japanese and global release may be releasing very soon.
Persona 5: The Phantom X was officially revealed in March 2023 with Black Wings Game Studio as the developer and Perfect World Games as the publisher (under license from Sega). The game acts as a spin-off from the 2016 PS4 title and takes place in the same setting. During its official announcement, a global release was not announced. But, seeing as Sega is satisfied with its initial launch, it's appearing increasingly likely that we'll see the game launch globally this year or early next year at the least.
