Persona 3 Reload class questions are some of the hardest you'll encounter, especially if you are not a "General Knowledge" aficionado. In this guide, I'll tackle the question, "What do you call the device that helps generate electric power for the train?" in P3 Reload.
What is the answer to a device that generates electric power question in P3R?
On May 6th, you'll get a class question and answer portion from Ms. Ounishi. She will provide an image of a device that helps generate electric power for the train. The answer to this question is the Pantograph.
The Pantograph is an ingenious device made by a German Physicist, Christoph Scheiner. The device is mainly located on the roof of an electric locomotive (i.e. trains). Its job is to collect power from an overhead wire and transfer it to a transformer.

When a train starts, the Pantograph raises its components using an air pressure system or a piston cylinder until it touches the contact wires.
You may be wondering why your local train doesn't have that same Pantograph in the image shown by Ms. Ounishi. The image shown by Ms. Ounishi is a double-arm pantograph, which is much less efficient and has a high repair cost when damaged.
Nowadays, a modern iteration of the pantograph called single-arm (i.e. Z-Shaped) is used by high-speed rail transits as it is much more efficient. Since it only has one arm, the repair cost is not as high as the old double-arm pantograph.
