Donphan is a pure Ground-type Pokémon, meaning it has the traditional weaknesses you would expect. But you will need to be careful, as Donphan has fantastic coverage moves that can potentially counter all its weaknesses. Here are all of Donphan's weaknesses in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

How to counter Donphan in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

Donphan's Ground-type only gives it three weaknesses, all of which it has coverage moves for. This makes challenging Donphan tricky, especially considering its great Attack, Defense, and HP. Its Speed is low, and it has okay Special Defense, meaning you will want a special attacker to take this thing down.

We recommend a strong, bulky special attacker like Slowbro, Arboliva, or Glaceon. These Pokémon can take hits from Donphan and return in kind. As they have higher Defense than Donphan has Special Defense, you should be able to whittle down its health before it takes your Pokémon out.
