All Normal Type Weaknesses and Counters in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

The answer isn't so plain.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet feature many Pokémon, each with its own type. These have certain strengths and resistances to them, meaning some Pokémon are better against certain types. You will encounter many Normal-type Pokémon, especially against Gym Leader Larry. This may leave you wondering what Normal-type Pokémon are weak against and the best types to counter them.

There is only one type that is super effective against Normal-type Pokémon in Scarlet and Violet. This is the Fighting-type. However, there are several types that are resistant to Normal-type moves. These are Rock and Steel, while Normal will have no effect on Ghost-type Pokémon. Using Fighting Pokémon is best, but Rock, Steel, and Ghost-type Pokémon are all hard for Normal Pokémon to defeat.

Normal is not directly strong against any types in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. It is not super effective against any type, but only three types are resistant to it. This makes it fairly good at offense, especially considering many moves are Normal, giving Normal-type Pokémon a stab bonus.

Additionally, many Normal-type Pokémon can learn a wider variety of moves, including those of other types. This gives them more coverage as they can learn different type moves to cover their weaknesses.
