Best moveset for Walking Wake in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

Fast Suicuine looks like it will be a threat.

Walking Wake is one of the most unique Pokémon in Scarlet & Violet, both in terms of design and utility. After all, thanks to Hydro Steam, it's the only Pokémon that can fire off a high-power Water attack on Sun. This makes Walking Wake a candidate for a lot of Sun-based teams, but a strong Walking Wake set will get the job done regardless of teammates.

Which moves should trainers teach Walking Wake in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet?

With access to Noble Roar, Walking Wake can become a decent mixed attacker in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet. Of course, its standout stat is 125 base Special Attack, but 83 Physical Attack is enough to at least dent Special Walls that try to switch in. The ideal moveset would look something like this:

  • Noble Roar
  • Hydro Steam
  • Draco Meteor
  • Low Kick

In the Sun, Walking Wake can use Noble Roar to get a double boost to its Special Attack, allowing it to spam Hydro Steam for some serious damage. Draco Meteor can punish walls like Toxapex and Water Absorb Clodsire. And while it may seem like a throwaway move, Low Kick actually serves a function, as it can KO Blissey and Tyranitar.

If Walking Wake gets the boost, not much can take a hit from it. Clodsire can easily take care of an unboosted Walking Wake, though. If Clodsire has the Unaware ability, it doesn't have to worry about the setup, but it will be vulnerable to Hydro Steam. That being said, the best way to check Walking Wake is by threatening it offensively. Dragapult, Iron Valiant, Roaring Moon, and several others can outspeed Walking Wake and threaten a KO.
