Even though Gimmighoul and Gholdengo only have two Pokémon in their evolutionary line, like Capsakid and Scovillain, they are nonetheless great choices to bring along on a team. The best Natures for Gimmighoul and Gholdengo in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are:

  • Timid (+Speed, -Attack)
  • Modest (+Special Attack, -Attack)

Players can choose the Modest Nature since it further strengthens their already high Special Attack stat while taking away from the less necessary Physical Attack. It is important to keep in mind that Gimmighoul doesn't naturally learn any Special Attack moves until it evolves to Gholdengo, so this is more helpful for its evolved form. Alternatively, another good choice for these Pokémon is the Timid Nature, since a high Speed stat would accompany their already high Special Attack beautifully.

How to choose the best Nature in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

Choosing the right Nature for a Pokémon is serious business. There are a few things players need to note when making their choice. A Pokémon's base stats and move pool are the two most important tools players have when choosing the right Nature.

The base stats give players an idea of what a Pokémon excels in. The best Natures will complement these stats, lowering the worst and emphasizing the best. The move pool is equally as important though, as players want to make sure that a Pokémon's offensive stats line up well with the moves in its arsenal. A Pokémon with lots of powerful Special Attacks should have a Nature that reflects that, increasing the effectiveness of those moves.
