Best Nature for Tatsugiri in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

It's the very definition of "great things come in small packages."

Tatsugiri may not look like it, but it’s a certified Dragon/Water type Pokémon with three forms: Curly, Droopy, and Stretchy. Depending on the form, Tatsugiri can raise one of Dondozo's stats (Attack, Defense, and Speed) whenever Dondozo uses the move Order Up in a double battle. But will this unique trait affect the best Nature Tatsugiri should have in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet? Let’s take a look.

What is the best Nature for Tatsugiri in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet?

The best Natures for Tatsugiri in Pokémon Scarlet are Violet are the following:

  • Modest (+Sp. Atk, -Attack)
  • Timid (+Speed, -Attack)

Tatsugiri has a really high Sp. Atk. If you plan to use it outside of double battles, Modest is the way to go. However, we would argue that a Timid Nature can better help you during double battles. This is especially true for Droopy Tatsugiri (that’s the pinkish one), which boosts Dodonzo’s Defense. However, if it’s difficult for you to roll a Timid on your capture, know that any stat that boosts the growth of Tatsugiri’s Speed will do.

How to choose the best Nature in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

Tatsugiri’s case is certainly unique, but there are more straightforward ways to determine the ideal Nature you should give to your Pokémon. Look at its highest stat and choose a Nature that will grow it. You can also choose Natures that slow the growth of a low stat, and boost an average one so it’s more well-rounded. The choice is up to you.
