Best Nature for Dondozo in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

Move over Wailord, there's a new giant fish in town.

Dondozo looks like a Wailord and Whiscash lovechild, and its description perfectly reflects this. It’s big, weighs a ton, and can probably destroy a city when it feels like it. As a pure Water type, it only has two weaknesses: Grass and Electric. The right Nature can help boost its potential in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

What is the best Nature for Dondozo in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet?

The best Natures for Dondozo in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are the following:

  • Lax (+Defense, -Sp. Def)
  • Relaxed (+Defense, -Speed)
  • Naughty (+Attack, -Sp. Def)
  • Brave (+Attack, -Speed)

Dondozo’s Sp. Def isn’t great, but when you pit it against a Physical Attacker, you can bet that it'll be undefeatable. This is because of this Pokémon’s naturally high HP and Defense. Boost its Defense even more to really irk your opponents. In fact, teach it Rest for good measure. Dondozo’s Attack stat is pretty high too, so Naughty and Brave are also viable options if you want it to pack more of a punch.

How to choose the best Nature in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

Most Pokémon will have a ridiculously high stat and an equally laughably low stat. The most common way to choose a good Nature is to raise the high stat and slow the growth of its lowest one. There are even cases like Dondozo which will have two to three high stats and way below average on others. The most important part is to understand your Pokémon’s characteristics and utilize their strengths.
