Best Nature for Veluza in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

The Jettison Pokémon.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet kept a lot of new Pokémon out of their teasers, which made Veluza’s appearance a pleasant surprise. Veluza is a Water/Psychic Pokémon that doesn’t evolve into anything. It periodically discards its flesh to increase its powers, and said meat can be used to make fillets in the game. But let’s talk about its best Nature.

What is the best Nature for Veluza in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet?

The best Natures for Veluza in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are the following:

  • Adamant (+Attack, -Sp. Atk)
  • Neutral Natures like Serious and Hardy

Veluza is one of the few well-rounded Pokémon in Scarlet & Violet. This means that it has above-average stats all around. However, its Attack is notably higher than its Sp. Atk, so Adamant is the best pick for it. But if you really can’t find one with an Adamant Nature, any of the five Neutral Natures (Hardy, Docile, Bashful, Quirky, and Serious) will do. These will neither raise nor slow the growth of any stat.

How to choose the best Nature in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

A Pokémon’s “best” Nature is all different depending on the species. For Veluza and other jack-of-all-trades mons, Neutral Natures are okay. But for Pokémon like Fuecoco whose distribution of values heavily leans onto one stat, try your best to look for a Nature that will boost it. A boosted Nature can roughly gain 20 more points at higher levels. Conversely, you can also opt for Natures that will slow the growth of their lowest stat.
