What is the best Nature for Wo-Chien in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

There are many powerful Pokémon other than Wo-Chien that call the Paldea Region home, like Chien-Pao. But before players progress too far leveling it up, here are some good Natures for Wo-Chien.

  • Calm (+Special Defense, -Attack)
  • Sassy (+Special Defense, -Speed)

Wo-Chien has a noticeably higher Special Defense stat above all else, so it would be a good idea to lean into this advantage even further with a complementary Nature. For this reason, Calm and Sassy are good choices because they will boost Wo-Chien's Special Defense even further while detracting from its Attack and Speed respectively.

How to choose the best Nature in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

It can be tough at times to choose a Nature since players need to factor in their own personal playstyle, the Pokémon's base stats, and their move pool to make a final decision. It is important to first review the Pokémon's base stats to find Natures that add to their strong suits. Players should also keep the move pool in mind because some Pokémon favor Special Attacks or Physical Attacks, which means choosing the wrong Nature could doom a Pokémon to not meet its full potential on the field.

Players should also keep in mind their preferences when choosing a Nature. If players know they are likely to use Special Attacks above all else, a Nature that boosts Physical Attacks would be of less use to them and their Pokémon. The chart below can help players make a final decision on which Nature is the best fit for them.
