How Fast Balls work and where to get them in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet feature various Pokémon to encounter and catch throughout Paldea. Normally you use Pokéballs when catching Pokémon, but you can use different types of Pokéballs, including Fast Balls, to make this process easier. This may leave you wondering where to find Fast Balls and what they do in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

What do Fast Balls do in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet?

The Fast Ball is a unique type of Pokéball that is more effective on Pokémon prone to run away. When using Fast Balls, your best bet is to use this ball as soon as you get into battle, before the Pokémon has a chance to run away. Unfortunately, you cannot simply purchase this Pokéball type from the Delibird Presents store like other Pokéballs.

Where to find Fast Balls in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

You cannot purchase Fast Balls in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet like other Pokéballs. Instead, you can find them at the Porto Marinada Market through the auction house. These will only appear after registering 240 Pokémon in your Pokédex and completing the Cascarrafa Gym Challenge.

They can also be earned as a reward from the Academy Ace Tournament. Once you have defeated all eight gyms in the Victory Road path, this is unlocked. Fast Balls are one of the many random rewards you can get through the Academy Ace Tournament in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
