How to catch a Ditto in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

Where could Ditto be?

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet take players to the Paldea region, a vast island crawling with all sorts of Pokémon to discover. This includes iconic ones and those useful for other purposes like breeding. One such Pokémon is Ditto, a Normal-type Pokémon that can transform into other Pokémon. This may leave you wondering where to get Ditto in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

How to get Ditto in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

To get a Ditto in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, you must find one and battle it. But this isn't as easy as it sounds because Ditto will disguise itself by transforming into another Pokémon. You need to keep an eye on your minimap and look for a Ditto symbol. Even if you do not see a Ditto around you, there should be one nearby pretending to be another Pokémon.

When you see Ditto appear on your minimap, start battling the wild Pokémon around you. One will secretly be a Ditto. When you find this Pokémon, you simply need to weaken it and catch it like normal. We recommend using status conditions to increase your odds of catching Ditto.

Ditto is mostly found in the West Provinces of Paldea in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. We found ours in West Province Area 2, but you can find it in other provinces here. Ditto is a tricky Pokémon to catch, as you must first find and identify it before you can capture it. Keep an eye on your minimap when hunting this Normal-type Pokémon.
