Get out of that tree.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet's Paldea is full of Pokémon to meet and capture. This region introduces many new Pokémon and features, one of which is exclusively Pokémon that can only be found in trees. But, you cannot simply walk up to the tree and shake it to knock them out, which may leave you wondering how to catch Pokémon in trees in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

How to encounter Pokémon in trees in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

To battle and catch Pokémon in trees in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, you simply need to be close enough to the tree and throw your Poke Ball at it. Line up your shot and press the ZR to throw a Pokémon at the Pokémon in the tree.

This will start the battle and let you catch the Pokémon as you would a normal encounter. You will have a better chance to catch the Pokémon if you lower their HP or inflict a status condition. As some rare Pokémon spawn in trees, we recommend taking precautions to ensure you capture it.

There are some Pokémon that can only be encountered in trees, so make sure you are keeping an eye on the foliage as you travel. While some Pokémon can spawn on the ground, they also appear in trees, making this an easy way to find them.
