How to evolve Bonsly into Sudowoodo in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

Why is that tree crying?

Sudowoodo appeared in the Pokémon series, first appearing as a false tree in Pokémon Gold and Silver. It then later received a pre-evolution called Bonsly, which can be encountered early on in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. This may leave you wondering how to evolve Bonsly into Sudowoodo in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

How to get Sudowoodo in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

To evolve Bonsly into Sudowoodo in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, you must raise Bonsly to level 16. It will then learn Mimic—make sure you teach Bonsly the move Mimic. After you have learned this move, increase Bonsly's level by one, and it will evolve into Sudowoodo. If you do not learn Mimic, you cannot evolve Bonsly into Sudowoodo in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

You can remember if you accidentally forgot Mimic in your Bonsly move set or caught a higher-level one that does not have the move. This will let Bonsly relearn the move, and then you can evolve it into Sudowood. Once it has evolved, you no longer need to keep Mimic in its move set.

Sudowood is a Rock-type Pokémon and boasts high Attack and Defense. It can be quite good early on due to its low evolution level. It is also the partner Pokémon of Brassius, the Grass-type gym leader in Artazon.
