How to get Scizor in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

To evolve Scyther into Scizor in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, you must find a Metal Coat. You will then need to give this item to Scyther for it to hold. Once Scyther is holding the Metal Coat, you will need to trade it to another player to trigger the evolution. Upon completion of the trade, Scyther will evolve into Scizor, and you can have the other player trade it back to you.

Metal Coat is a held item that causes various Pokémon to evolve in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, including Scyther. You can find Metal Coat at the Delibird Presents store in Levincia, home of the Electric Gym. In addition to evolving Scyther, this item increases the power of Steel-type moves for the Pokémon holding it.

If you do not have a friend with Pokémon Scarlet and Violet to trade with, there is a subreddit called PokémonTrades. This is typically a safe place to trade Pokémon, but make sure you read the rules, guidelines, and suggestions before initiating a trade. Ensure that any communication is done in the subreddit and not through DM, but be aware you are trading with strangers at your own risk.
