How to get Ursaluna in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

The moon bear Pokémon.

Ursaluna is a Ground/Normal Pokémon first introduced in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Since Teddiursa is in the game, you may be wondering how you can get it to evolve to Ursaluna. Here’s a quick guide to answer your question.

Can I catch Ursaluna in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet?

Unfortunately, Ursaluna is not part of the Pokémon Scarlet & Violet regional Pokédex. You will never get Teddiursa to evolve into it, and this is because Ursaluna is a Pokémon that existed in Hisui (Ancient Sinnoh) years in the past. And if modern Sinnoh doesn’t have an Ursaluna, then Paldea won’t as well.

Of course, if you have a Pokémon Home subscription, you can certainly transfer your Ursaluna from Pokémon Legends: Arceus to Pokémon Scarlet & Violet. Teddirusa can also still evolve into Ursaring at level 30. Just bring it with you around Paldea, so it can gain experience as you travel in search of your treasure.

Ursaring is still a good Pokémon, boasting above-average stats all around and extremely high Attack power. Moves such as Thrash and Tera Blast are enough to knock your enemies unconscious in one hit.

Despite this sad news, Pokémon Scarlet & Violet has a wide selection of new Pokémon species and evolutionary lines to discover. Pokémon like Dunsparce can now evolve, and the power of newer Pokémon like Palafin will shock you. We highly recommend that you give these new mons a try. Who knows, you might find a creature that will fill the Ursaluna-shaped hole in your heart.
