Whether you’re looking for high-IV Pokémon or simply are out there to complete your Pokédex without needing to evolve certain Pokémon, six star Tera Raids are your best bet. Here’s how to unlock them in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet.
Six star Tera Raid requirements in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet
To unlock six star Tera Raids in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, you need to accomplish the following things:
- Finish the main story.
- With the Ace Academy Tournament for the first time. This is the post-epilogue story.
- Win a ton of five star Tera Raids until Jacq is happy with the data you’ve provided him.
After doing the above steps, you should get a call from Jacq that black crystals with powerful energy have been discovered. Congrats, you’ve unlocked six star Tera Raids!

How to get more six star Tera Crystals to spawn in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet
The type, levels, and locations of Tera Crystals in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet reset every day (in game). A day is roughly 72 minutes. So, once you beat a six star Raid, you need to wait one day for another to respawn.
A workaround for this is to change the time and date on your Nintendo Switch. If you save, turn off the game, and change the day to the next, the Tera Crystals available will be different.
Six star Tera Raids aren’t the most difficult ones you can take on in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet. There are also seven star Raids, which are event exclusives. Check the official Pokémon Twitter account or patch notes to see if there are any ones active.
