How to Battle With Buddy in Pokemon Go

There's various ways you can battle with your buddy! Some of these are easier than others. What's important is that you make sure to actually that your buddy in the battle party (it doesn't have to battle itself) to complete the activity and gain that daily heart! You can head to a Gym and use your buddy to beat up some of the Pokemon that are stationed there, you can use your buddy in a battle against Team Rocket, you can battle a friend, and you can use them in a raid battle. The easiest method, however, is to add them to your party and battle one of the Team Leaders. The reason this is easier is because you can do this from anywhere at anytime!

To battle one of the trainers, just hit the Pokemon nearby radar menu item at the bottom right of the screen. You will start out looking at the Pokemon that can be found nearby, but we don't want this. Swipe to the right and you will bring up the Battle menu. From here, you can choose to battle Blanche, Candela, or Spark. Blanche uses Ice/Water Pokemon, Candela uses Fire, and Spark uses Electric. Make sure to have a couple of your Pokemon that can counter those types, and then have your buddy along for the ride. They aren't too difficult to beat, and once you do you will get credit for battling with your Pokemon buddy!
