How to get the Old Rod, Good Rod, and Super Rod in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

If you find yourself lacking a good water-type Pokémon then you will want to head to the waterside and start fishing. Unfortunately, you cannot just stick your hands in the water and grab a fish. You will first need a fishing rod.

There are three fishing rods in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. These are the Old Rod, Good Rod, and Super Rod. Each rod increases in effectiveness and lets you catch stronger Pokémon. You can see how to get all fishing rods in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl below.

Old Rod

The Old Rod is the first fishing rod players can get in the game. This is found just outside of Jubilife City. Instead of traveling east to Oreburgh City, go west towards Route 218. At the exit, you will see a fisherman who is dressed in orange. Speak with him to obtain the Old Rod.

Good Rod

The Good Rod is the second fishing rod the player can get. This is on Route 209 which lies east of Hearthome City. Make your way through the route until you get to an area with water and wooden piers. Here you will find another fisherman. Speak with him to obtain the Good Rod.

Super Rod

The Super Rod is the third and best fishing rod the player can get. Unfortunately, you cannot obtain it until after defeating the Elite Four. This fisherman can be found in the Fight Area which is in the northeast of the map. He can be found outside of the north tunnel. Speak with him to obtain the Super Rod.
