Where to find Abra in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

What's the magic word?

There are few psychic Pokémon better than Alakazam, and this remains true in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. If you want this psychic-type Pokémon on your team, you will first need to get your hands on an Abra. There are two ways to get an Abra in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.

The first method is to catch an Abra the old-fashioned way. You can encounter this Pokémon on route 203, which lies directly east of Jubilife City. The second method is to trade a Machop for an Abra to an NPC in Oreburgh City.

Catching an Abra can be tricky as it will teleport out of battle the first chance it gets. This means you will need a fast Pokémon who can put it to sleep or keep it locked in battle. Alternatively, you can just throw a Pokéball and hope for the best.

The second method requires you to catch a Machop, which can be found north of Oreburgh City. Once you have captured one, return to Oreburgh city and head to the house next to the Pokémart. Inside is an NPC named Hilary who will trade her Abra for your Machop.
