The Deserter Quest Walkthrough – Prince of Persia The Lost Crown

In Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, you will get ample side quests while progressing through the main quests. The Deserter is one such optional side quest and if you want to know how to do it, here's what you need to do.

How to start The Deserter Quest in Prince of Persia The Lost Crown

The Deserter is a side quest in Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown and to start it, you'll need to progress through the main quest Lost in Mount Qaf. During the main quest, you'll enter the Hycranian forest in search of Menolias and find the first Wak-Wak tree there. Continue past the tree in the east and locate the three rectangular archways on the way. To climb on top of them, use the Bow of Menolias, and shoot at the glowing vein which will then create a platform. The platform gives a vantage point that makes it easier to jump from one pillar to the next.

Crossing the three rectangular pillars leads you into a small area where there's a giant Soldier. The Soldier will tell you that he's come here to attack the palace of King Darius but is trapped in this cursed forest. Sargon reminds him that Darius is dead and the palace is deserted. Upon hearing this, the Soldier asks you to quickly find his brother in arms. After this conversation, you'll see a pop-up on the screen, and you can accept or reject The Deserter quest.

Where to find the Deserter's brother in Prince of Persia The Lost Crown

After interacting with the Soldier, head west towards the pillars you crossed to reach the area. Drop down from the ledge in front of the pillars, and move further downwards to find a small glowing vein. Shoot at the vein using the Bow of Menolias to create a temporary leaf platform. Climb onto the leaf to jump on the ledge towards the east.

Keep running east until you find a slope that leads downwards. Slide down the slope and take a sharp left to move west. The Soldier's companion can be found hanging in this area next to a stone pillar. Jump on the stone pillar and use your sword to cut the rope down. Examine the corpse to find the Cannonball. Now, head back to the Soldier following the same path to deliver the Cannonball you found.

After a brief conversation with the Soldier, he'll use the Cannonball to blast the entrance to this area and free himself. This concludes The Deserter side quest. You'll get the Soma Tree Petal as a reward.
