What are Threat Levels in Rainbow Six Extraction?

Rainbow Six Extraction is currently available for download, and players have a long grind ahead before mastering every Threat Level. The game offers four different levels of difficulty which you can select at the start of every mission. Moderate, Cautious, Severe and Critical are the four Threat Levels you get to select before every incursion in Rainbow Six Extraction. 

Moderate

Moderate poses beginner-level difficulty for the player and is relatively simple to complete objectives. We recommend new Rainbow Six players to complete missions at this Threat Level to grasp the basic mechanics and objectives of the game. The enemy AI is less reactive and with fewer spawns, the Archaeans feel like target practice at this difficulty. There is no threat of mutations at this level. 

Cautious

Cautious is the second Threat Level in the game and it presents a medium level of difficulty for players. Ideally, you want most of your Operators at level 3 or higher before starting missions at Threat Level. Mutations start at 50% with this difficulty, and Archaeans encounters will increase with every objective. There is a 50% bonus for completing objectives at this difficulty.

Severe

Severe is the third Threat Level and this is where things start becoming hardcore. Players will start encountering high-level Archaeans at this level, and it is ridiculously difficult to execute objectives covertly. There is a 75% chance of mutation surrounding each objective area. You will also get a 100% XP bonus after completing the objective.  

Critical

Critical is the final Threat level in Rainbow Six Extraction. This setting is ideal where most of your Operators have reached level 10. The threat of mutation is 100% and the enemy Archaeans are the strongest at this level. Completing incursions with this setting allows players to get a 200% XP bonus. However, it is advised that you go in with teammates as it can be terribly frustrating to do it solo.
