Ready or Not allows players to install compatible mods on their devices to further enhance the gameplay experience. In this guide, I've described how you can use the Gunfighter mod after the 1.0 launch update.
How to install the Gunfighter mod in Ready or Not
The Gunfighter Gameplay Improvement created by "isshinsama" was available for download directly via the in-game Mods menu in Ready or Not. This mod is now outdated and currently not recommended for use. However, user "NinomaeIsshin416" has uploaded the Gunfighter Gameplay Improvement 3 mod, which is compatible with Ready or Not 1.0.
The Gunfighter mod is now available on the NexusMods website and you can download it here. Open the webpage and click on the Files tab as shown in the image above. Log in to your NexusMods account or register if you're a new user to be able to download the Gunfighter mod files.

Once downloaded, you need to extract the zip files and transfer their content to the Paks folder in the Ready or Not game directory. Below I've provided a step-by-step guide on how to do so.
- Go to the Ready or Not game in your Steam Library.
- Click on the cog wheel icon on the right, go to Manage, and select Browse local files (see image above). This will open your game's installation folder.
- Open the folders ReadyOrNot > Content > Paks to bring up the list of mods on your device.
- Now, copy all the Gunfighter mod files you just downloaded and paste them into this Paks folder.
When you restart your game, the Gunfighter Gameplay Improvement mod will be installed. Below is the description of the three files included in the Gunfighter mod and how they affect the gameplay in Ready or Not:
- Basic
- Most of the ARs and SMGs have compression/short stocking capability when they are close to the object.
- After shooting, most of the weapons will fall back to center a little.
- Minor improvements to NODS.
- Reduced sway of most weapons when firing and moving.
- 25 slots in light/heavy armor.
- The weapons will be lower than the axis of the eyes in the non-ADS state for better vision. Most of the guns in the draw state will tilt inward slightly, which is more realistic.
- Device
- Add nine banger flashbang.
- Flashlight
- Increase the flashlight's light cone range (lowers FPS).
