Remnant 2 Blood Moon Essence Locations & Where To Use

Take advantage of the Blood Moon while you can.

After completing the Losomn world, I was eager to continue my journey in Remnant 2. This took me to Yaesha, a beautiful world overrun by the Root. While exploring the areas in this world, I came across an altar that required Blood Moon Essence to craft its rewards. This left me wondering where and how to get Blood Moon Essence in Remnant 2.

Where to find and farm Blood Moon Essence in Remnant 2

Blood Moon Essence is found exclusively in Yaesha. I found most of mine in The Forbidden Grove, so I recommend heading here. They can only be found during a Blood Moon, which is a randomly triggered event. It can be identified by looking up to the sky or when the world has a more pink hue.

During a Blood Moon, keep an eye out for purple Root Wisps. These can typically be spotted flying by the house structures or near trees. Shoot these, and you will automatically collect Blood Moon Essence. They do not respawn during the same Blood Moon, but you can trigger another by walking through a gold door to reset them. Repeat this until you have collected all the Blood Moon Essence you need.

What to do with Blood Moon Essence in Remnant 2

Blood Moon Essence is a crafting material, but not one that you take to Ward 13. It can only be used at the Blackwood/Blood Moon Altar. This structure can either be found in The Forbidden Grove or The Far Woods. I found mine in The Forbidden Grove not far past Meidra, a character who asks the player a series of questions in the Dappled Glade.

All Bloodmoon Altar Rewards in Remnant 2

It will take a total of 65 Blood Moon Essence to purchase every reward at the Blood Moon Altar in The Forbidden Grove or The Far Woods. That said, I recommend grabbing the Faded Grimoire first. This item can be used to unlock the Summoner class by speaking to Wallace in Ward 13. Here are all the rewards you can purchase at Blood Moon Altar in Remnant 2.
