Rivals of Aether 2 showcased many new features in the official announcement trailer on the Rivals of Aether YouTube channel. This includes shielding, grabbing, pummeling, and ledge grabbing. Many of the things that made Rivals of Aether what it was are returning in the sequel. This includes the fast-paced and combo-heavy gameplay, stage control abilities, and off-stage combat. These familiar features will have veterans feeling at home in Rivals of Aether 2.

The inclusion of these new features seems aimed to make Rivals of Aether 2 more like Super Smash Bros. and may turn some fans of the original off. But it will likely also help newcomers to the series as the first Rivals of Aether features a sharp learning curve. Only time will tell how these features blend together!
