99 Nights in the Forest is a really fun and refreshing Roblox survival game, and we can't get enough of it. Unfortunately, as fun as it is, there is a lot to learn and a lot of trial and error. We can't tell you how often we played with randoms only to have them die and quit right after joining because they just didn't know what to do. To help you avoid this situation, we made this 99 Nights in the Forest Tips and Tricks for Beginners.
99 Nights in the Forest Beginners Guide
These tips may sound trivial, but they will save your life if you take them to heart. Follow them, and we guarantee you'll improve in your survival skills.
Don't play with random players

When you start a game, it will be set for that number of players. This means that if you start a 5-player game, and two players leave, it will still be a 5-player game. You can probably see where this is going.
Either play alone (1-player game) or with your friends, but for the love of everything, don't play with randoms. We've had players leave as soon as the match started, and most die by day 4. Seriously, even if you don't have a friend, just create a 1-player game, they work just fine.
You don't actually have to survive for 99 days

When you find the missing children and build beds, you get a multiplier for the amount of days that pass after each night. This means that instead of going from, for example, Day 20 to Day 21, you'll instead go from Day 20 to Day 25. It's a great way to boost your score and earn some badges.
To do this, Build Beds at your base. You can build a new bed each time you upgrade your crafting station, so a total of 3 beds, and their effects stack.
You also receive an additional multiplier for each child you rescue. You can get a rough idea of where each child is located by interacticng with the missing poster next to your base. Then you simply follow the trail, find a cave, kill the wolves with the same collars near the base, and you'll get a key that unlocks that cave. Inside is a child, which you can take to your base and it will give you a multiplier.
Get the Good Axe and the Good Sack ASAP

Minus the intro where you have to get your Campfire to 100%, you really shouldn't chop anything major until you get the Good Axe. Seriously, time is so precious in 99 Nights, and chopping trees with the Old Axe only wastes it. So go out, loot chests, barns, or whatever you can find until you find a Good Axe. The same goes for the Good Sack (and eventually the Giant Sack, too), but definitely make the Axe a priority. A Good Axe will definitely speed up your gathering process. Speaking of that...
Always empty your sack on the shredder

Many players like to bring resources back to the Campfire, dump them on the ground, and then drag them individually to the shredder. Don't do this, because it's a waste of time.
Instead, stand in front of the shredder and empty your bag into it. Everything that can be used as a resource will automatically be converted (without you needing to drag it), and everything that can't be used on the shredder (like food, Coal, Gasoline, Guns, etc.) will stay on top of the machine. This saves you so much time.
Look for treasure over resources

Gathering resources is fine and all, but if the day is just starting, go out of your way to look for treasure instead. Things like scrap metal, better equipment, guns, ammo, and especially bandages can really help you survive longer.
We recommend you spend half the day looking for treasure and scrap, and the rest of the day, gathering wood (with the Good Axe, obviously).
Additionally, if you only have meat in your sack, you can also empty all of them at your Campfire to immediately cook them. While we're on the subject of food...
Food doesn't spoil, and doesn't get dirty

One great thing about 99 Nights in the Forest is that food doesn't spoil. Because of this, it's a good idea to just massively cook a bunch of meat and leave it out in the open for later (for both you and your teammates). It's definitely better than carrying it around or eating it if you aren't hungry.
Chop a tree, plant a tree

When you chop a tree, you'll always get three logs of wood, and one Tree Sapling. We highly recommend you take the Sapling and plant it somewhere near your base (the closer it is, the better). This ensures you always have extra wood in case you need it (and you always do).
Worst case scenario, if you don't have time to collect the Tree Sappling, just plant it then and there, as soon as it drops from the chopped tree. You'll thank us later.
The Fur Trader is your best friend

You can get a very good item from the Fur Trader is you have the right Fur to trade. Each player can get this by trading the following furs (in this order):
Rabbit Foot - Wold Pelt - Alpha Wolf Pelt - Bear Pelt
You can get things like Good Axes, Revolvers, Giant Sacks, and a few other useful items. It's definitely worth it especially if you late in the game and still don't have a Rifle.
Don't be afraid of the Deer

The main enemy in the game is the goofy humanoid deer that you around when night comes. As scary as that might be, you don't have to be afraid of it. The thing hates light. So, even if you are taking a midnight stroll, just shine your flashlight at it. Heck, even if you don't have a flashlight, you can usually outrun the deer on your way back to the base. Sure, it's a scary monster, but it's also predictable.
This also means that, when night comes, you can be somewhat productive. Chop trees around your base, build stuff, move it around, and heal your teammates (if you have any).
When you see a flower, pick it up

Flowers are an interesting resource in 99 Nights in the Forest. Unlike all other resources, they don't go into your inventory but in a shared "cloud" inventory, which is shared between all your teammates. In other words, just pick every flower you see. It doesn't take long, and it doesn't waste a sack space.
You can use the flowers to buy special seeds from the Fairy. We recommend you go for Berry seeds as these are really good to munch on, as you're out exploring.
That's all there is to it. Have fun surviving in 99 Nights in the Forest. If you're looking for more Roblox survival games, then check out our article on Best Roblox Survival Games.
