Want to know what the best race to reroll in Roblox Abyss is? The fishing game from The Forge’s creators features 16 distinct races at launch, each with its own stat bonuses and passive abilities (well, most of them). Given the cost of lucky rerolls, you’ll want to spend them wisely, and that’s why I’ve created the ultimate Roblox Abyss Race Tier List. Check it out.
Roblox Abyss Races Tier List
This Race Tier List is based on both the stat buffs a race provides and its unique passive skills, which can make your undersea adventures much easier, especially as you dive deeper in later stages of the game. While most races are fairly straightforward, some have interesting, unique abilities that can function as tech passives, making them great options for your second race slot. With that said, check out the best races in Roblox Abyss:

All Abyss Race Passive Skills & Evaluation
Now that you've seen the tier list, let's check out what each of these races actually provides in-game and what that means for you - why you should (or shouldn't) pick that specific race. Each race comes with at least one stat buff, and most of them (aside from Common and Uncommon) also have some passive skills. Here are all Abyss race passive skills, along with my evaluation.

S Tier Abyss Races - The Meta
These Mythics are the two currently strongest races in Abyss. They provide the biggest raw stat buffs, and their passive abilities are game-changers that can make the grind easier and help you in many clutch situations. If you’re lucky enough to reroll either of these races, you should absolutely keep them.
| Race | Passive Skills | Evaluation |
|---|---|---|
![]() Kraken MYTHIC Reroll Chances: 0.2% Lucky Reroll: 1% | • +20% Weight • +15% XP • +15% Cash • Endless Depths: Every fish caught increases Damage by +0.04% permanently (caps at +50%). • Leviathan’s Legacy: After you die, instead of dying, regenerate 100% of your oxygen and deal 300% AoE damage around you (8 minutes cooldown). | • The Kraken race is by far the best race in Abyss. • It has the best raw stat bonuses across the board. • Endless Depths scales into the end-game (you need 1250 fish for the full 50% damange buff). • Leviathan’s Legacy is a clutch ability that can save you (and your progress) during crucial moments at greater depths. |
![]() Sea Angel MYTHIC Reroll Chances: 0.2% Lucky Reroll: 1% | TBA | TBA |

A Tier Abyss Races
Honestly, the A-tier races in Abyss are perfectly fine. They aren’t god-like like the S-tier races, but each one has a couple of unique and interesting passives that can help you during your adventures outside the bubble. Each fills a distinct niche and can perform very well in certain situations, almost (but not quite) on par with Mythic races.
| Race | Passive Skills | Evaluation |
|---|---|---|
![]() Shark LEGENDARY Reroll Chances: 2% Lucky Reroll: 10% | • 20% DMG Increase • -0.4 Cooldown (faster attack). • Blood Frenzy: When your Oxygen is below 30%, deal 30% more damage. • Sea Sprint: Tube boost consumes 50% less oxygen. | • The Shark is the best race for damage buffs in Abyss. • Shark's 20% damage buff is the best in the game and, when combined with an attack speed buff, results in a drastic DPS increase. • Sea Sprint is phenomenal in clutch situations when you need to get back to the bubble while trying not to drown. |
![]() Vampire Squid LEGENDARY Reroll Chances: 2% Lucky Reroll: 10% | • +20% Oxygen • +10% XP • Blood Siphon: When catching a fish, regen oxygen for 10% of the damage dealt (15 seconds cooldown). | • Vampire Squid provides the biggest Oxygen increase out of all races in Abyss. • Blood Siphon is a nice passive that can increase your time outside the bubble almost indefinitely if you optimize your fish catching around its 15-second cooldown. • Not as good as the Shark race in this tier, and I think there’s room to make Blood Siphon a bit better (shorter cooldown, higher oxygen regeneration). |
![]() Crab EPIC Reroll Chances: 2% Lucky Reroll: 10% | • +15% Oxygen • +10% Weight • 10% Damage • Iron Shell: 25% chance to absorb incoming attacks (negate all damage from the attack). | • Crab is the best Epic race in Abyss. • It has solid bonuses across the board, which will make your ventures into deeper areas easier. • Iron Shell is a great passive skill if you often find yourself under attack from fish. |
B Tier Abyss Races
| Race | Passive Skills | Evaluation |
|---|---|---|
![]() Anglerfish EPIC Reroll Chances: 2% Lucky Reroll: 10% | • -0.2s Cooldown (faster attack). • +5% Cash • Hunter's Instinct: 10% chance for double drops when catching fish. • Abyssal Light: Illuminates surroundings in darkness. | • It's worse than the other Epic race in Abyss currently. • Stat buffs are solid, but lack focus (a small attack speed buff plus cash bonus seems like a random combo). • Abyssal Light is a unique and interesting passive skill, making Anglerfish an excellent second-slot race (as a tech race). |
![]() Spirit RARE Reroll Chances: 14% Lucky Reroll: 38% | • -0.1s Cooldown (faster attack). • +5% Cash • Last Breath: After you die, instead of dying, you regenerate 30% of your Oxygen (3 minutes cooldown). | • IMHO, Spirit is the best Rare race in Abyss. • Stat buffs are basically the same as Anglerfish's. • I think this is an excellent early-game race (if you don’t roll anything better), as it can save you from drowning while you’re learning the game. |
![]() Puffer RARE Reroll Chances: 14% Lucky Reroll: 38% | • +15% Oxygen • Spiky Body: Reflects 20% of incoming melee damage back to the attacker. | • +15% extra Oxygen is nothing to scoff at, as you'll learn as soon as you start getting further from the bubble. • Spiky Body is a surprisingly great passive skill, as it acts as both a 20% damage reduction and a bonus damage effect on any melee attack (100% of the time). |
![]() Narwhal RARE Reroll Chances: 14% Lucky Reroll: 38% | • +8% Speed • +15% Weight • Piercing Horn: 10% chance to deal double damge. | • Narwhal provides the biggest buff to Weight capacity after the Kraken race. • An 8% bonus to Speed is a solid buff not only for movement but for survivability as well, as it allows you to get back home faster before running out of Oxygen. • Piercing Horn is a very weak passive skill, because a 10% chance is far too low and inconsistent to be reliable. |
C Tier Abyss Races
| Race | Passive Skills | Evaluation |
|---|---|---|
![]() CYCLOPS UNCOMMON Reroll Chances: 29% Lucky Reroll: 27% | • +10% Damage | • Solid damage buff, but you should absolutely skip it if you have a chance to reroll something better. |
![]() MONKEY UNCOMMON Reroll Chances: 29% Lucky Reroll: 27% | • +10% Speed • +5% XP | • It can work as a solid starter race if you’re incredibly unlucky and don’t pull anything better, as it’s fast (which is important early on due to low Oxygen) and provides bonus XP for early-game leveling. |
![]() FISH UNCOMMON Reroll Chances: 29% Lucky Reroll: 27% | • +5% Speed • +10% Weight | • The weakest of the 3 Uncommon races in Abyss. • Maybe good for early-game fish catching, but that’s me stretching it by a mile. |
D Tier Abyss Races
These aren’t even good starter races, not even worthy to be featured on our Roblox Abyss Race Tier List. Simply avoid them and always reroll. They’re the primary reason you should use Lucky Rerolls, as they drastically reduce the chance of pulling one of these trash races (from an annoying 50% down to a negligible 3%).
| Race | Passive Skills | Evaluation |
|---|---|---|
![]() Elf COMMON Reroll Chances: 50% Lucky Reroll: 3% | • +5% Speed | • Nothing against Elves, but this is an incredibly weak passive. • What are Elves even doing in Abyss? |
![]() Poop COMMON Reroll Chances: 50% Lucky Reroll: 3% | • 5% Damage | • Poop. • Poop poop. • Poop poop poop. |
| Coral COMMON Reroll Chances: 50% Lucky Reroll: 3% | • 5% Oxygen | • Maybe? Just kidding - no. |
![]() Human COMMON Reroll Chances: 50% Lucky Reroll: 3% | N/A | N/A |
How to Reroll Your Race in Abyss?
Unlike many Roblox games, where the only way to reroll your class or race is by purchasing rerolls or obtaining them through codes, Roblox Abyss allows you to reroll races using in-game currency, which you can earn by completing quests and achievements. These Shards can then be used for a regular reroll (100 Shards per reroll).
However, with these “normal” rerolls, the chances of getting higher-rarity races are significantly lower. In fact, 50% of the time, you’ll pull a Common race, and they are generally unusable. If you want better odds, you’ll need to use Lucky Rerolls, which drastically improve your chances. Lucky Reroll will cost you 450 Shards, compared to regular rerolls, which cost only 100 Shards.
To reroll your race, click the race icon in the top-middle section of the screen while you’re inside the bubble (hub area), and the race reroll screen will appear. You can reroll your race as long as you have enough Shards, but keep in mind that every new race will override the previous one in that slot.
