With Fishing added to Blox Fruits, you can now catch over 30 fish of different rarities. These can be used in crafting food items and different potions, and fishing also increases your overall level, with rarer fish providing a bigger EXP boost. The free Fishing Rod and the Basic Bait you get from the Fisherman will only help you catch the Common, Uncommon, and Rare Fish in Blox Fruits.
If you want the rarest of catches, you'll have to grind until you reach Mastery 15 with the free Fishing Rod you got from the Fisherman NPC. After that, you can go and talk to the Angler NPC for better rods and bait that can help you reel in the bigger fish.

According to the Fishing Index, there are 37 fish in Blox Fruits that players can catch right now. Low-rarity fish can be caught in the Main World and the Second Sea. However, to catch high-rarity fish, you must fish in the waters of the Third Sea.
Fish are used for cooking food and crafting different potions in Blox Fruits. Other than that, you can also sell the fish you catch to the Fisherman NPC and get money in exchange.
You can get crafting recipes for Fish Kebab and other potions by fishing in the seas of Blox Fruits. These recipes are pretty easy to get, and can be collected with the free Fishing Rod and in every Sea of Blox Fruits.
