The arrival of Anime Defenders Update 5 marks the addition of two new items known as Athenyx's Key and Athenyx's Tether. If you're unsure about their purpose and how to obtain them, you've come to the right place as I'll walk you through all the key details.
What is Athenyx's Key in Anime Defenders?
Athenyx's Key, as the name suggests, is a special item that can only be used in the Anime Defenders Athenyx Realm. It was introduced on August 24, 2024 as a part of the Update 5. At this point, you might think it's required to enter the realm.
However, it's quite opposite to your thought as Athenyx's Key is an item that you will need to exit the realm otherwise you'll be trapped inside with all the items and units you've obtained so far. There are two ways to get Athenyx's Key in Anime Defenders.
First of all, you must hop into the Athenyx Realm, which requires you to achieve at least level 30 in the game. The item randomly drops in this mode, so make sure to keep an eye on it. Alternatively, you can complete this season's battle pass to obtain this Athenyx's Key.
Once you have the item in your inventory, you can successfully leave the realm without any hiccups.
Understanding Athenyx's Tether
In Anime Defenderse, Athenyx dimension is well known for its exclusive units known as Realm Units. But there's a catch – you cannot bring these units outside of this realm unless you have Athenyx's Tether. In simple words, Athenyx's Tether allows you to bring back Realm units in the real world so you can use and trade them.
You can obtain this special tool by completing certain challenges in Realm mode and finishing the battle pass in the game. However, it's worth noting that you can only evacuate single unit at a time.
