Anime Defenders Update 4 Patch Notes - July 14, 2024

There are many things to cover in these patch notes, and this is just part 1 of the update. Anime Defenders Update 4 part 2 is planned for July 21, 2024. While we wait for the second part's release, let's take a look at everything introduced in this part 1.

How do Divine Wishes work in Anime Defenders?

Regular Wishes will drop more frequently, while you can earn them through the new F2P Battlepass. However, Wishes are no longer tradable. Divine Wishes have been introduced in their place, which are tradable and come with improved chances. If you purchased a Wish with Robux before this update, you’ll automatically receive equivalent Divine Wishes as compensation.

What are Portals in Anime Defenders?

Portals are a new feature in Anime Defenders. Here are the details:

  • 15 Portals (3 Types): These mysterious gateways appear in the game. Each type of Portal offers different challenges and rewards.
  • Secret Units: You can obtain three secret units exclusively from Portals. These units are non-tradable.
  • Infinite Mode Drops: Portals drop in Infinite Mode matches.
  • Randomized Challenges: Each Portal presents randomized challenges for players to overcome.
  • No Trading: Unfortunately, Portals cannot be traded. However, Portal hosts enjoy better drop rates.

What are Spirits in Anime Defenders?

Spirits in Anime Defenders add a unique layer of strategy by giving buffs to your units. Update 4 has introduced 16 Spirits that will make your units more useful. You can't trade units that have Spirits. To improve units, you must get Spirit Orbs.

  • 16 Spirits: These powerful entities grant significant buffs and passives to your units.
  • Spirit Orbs: Earn Spirit Orbs from Portals, the Tower of Eternity, and the Battlepass.
  • Summoning Spirits: Use Spirit Orbs to summon spirits in the Summon Building. There’s a chance a spirit will appear.
  • “Spirited” Units: When a spirit attaches to a unit, it becomes “Spirited.” These units cannot be traded without removing their spirit.

Hall of Mirrors Changes in Anime Defenders Update 4

After fans complained about The Hall of Mirrors introduced in Anime Defenders update 3, this mode had a significant rework in Update 4. The game duration has been reduced to 20 minutes, making matches more fast-paced and intense. Additionally, the Wish drop rates have been improved.

  • Normal: 5%
  • Hard: 8%
  • Nightmare: 15%

New Battle Pass system in Anime Defenders

Anime Defenders introduces a fresh battle pass system in Update 4. There are two types of Battle Passes:

  1. F2P Battle Pass: This battle pass is available to all players, allowing you to earn wishes and divine wishes. You’ll also collect Mini Luck Potions and unlock a new Mythic battle pass unit.
  2. Premium Battle Pass: The Premium battle pass offers exclusive benefits for those seeking additional rewards. Complete daily battle pass quests to earn XP and progress through the tiers.

New Season and Leaderboard

Anime Defenders kicks off a fresh leaderboard season in Update 4. You'll find multiple ways to improve your standing, especially if you use Spirits and other improvements introduced in Anime Defenders Update 4.

  • New Leaderboard Rewards: Climb the ranks and earn exciting rewards.
  • Leaderboard Unit: A new unit awaits the top players.
  • Tower of Eternity Reset: Prepare for a reset in the Tower of Eternity.

Miscellaneous Improvements

Besides reworking mechanics and introducing new content, the Anime Defenders team has implemented multiple improvements to the game.

  • Giftable Gamepasses: Share the love by gifting gamepasses to friends.
  • Giftable Battle Pass and Level Skips: More ways to support your fellow defenders.
  • Unit UI Improvements: Enhancements to the unit interface.
