The Villain Invasion Event has 4 acts. Act 1 emphasizes countering enemy buffs with slowing units while avoiding AOE attacks against Armored enemies. Act 2 focuses on overwhelming defensive mechanics through high damage, since enemies gain damage reduction, powerful shields, and regeneration. Act 3 requires you to use damage over time effects to prevent enemies from respawning. Finally, Act 4 combines the mechanics from every previous act with new Splitter, Summoner, and Dawn enemies. This will make teamwork, role specialization, and balanced team composition all but essential for success.
A cool event has landed at Anime Expeditions, and it is called Villain Invasion. In it, you will have to fight off a series of powerful enemies scattered across four different Acts. Since the event itself and the enemies you will face are immensely difficult, we have created this guide to provide you with the best strategies and tips on how to beat it, so make sure to keep reading!
How to Join the Villain Invasion Event in Anime Expeditions

To join the Villain Invasion event in Anime Expeditions, simply press the "events" button on the left side of the main game screen. Once you do so, you will be taken to a menu that lists all of the currently active events, with Villain Invasion being the one at the very top of it. Select it and navigate to the Event Game Mode section at the bottom of the screen, choose the act you wish to play, and proceed to the gameplay.
How to Complete Act 1 of the Villain Invasion Event in Anime Expeditions

Act 1: Death introduces several unique enemy mechanics that require you to adjust your team composition and strategy to clear it consistently. Armored enemies reduce damage taken from AOE attacks by 33%, making traditional AOE-focused teams far less effective. Instead, it is better to rely on units with standard attacks or line-based AOE, such as Eighth Sword, Puppet, Cursed Student, and Lady Giant.
Commander enemies will pose another major threat, since they increase the health and movement speed of all nearby enemies by 20%, so they should always be eliminated as quickly as possible before they can strengthen the rest of the wave.
However, the most dangerous foes are the Death enemies, which permanently grant nearby enemies stacking 5% movement speed buffs. To prevent these stacks from overwhelming your defenses, you should bring at least one unit with slowing capabilities, such as Salmon Sorcerer or the more affordable Ice Mage, as their slowing effect resets the accumulated speed bonuses back to zero. Additionally, make sure to bring along a farm unit such as the Stone Alchemist. He will help you generate additional income.
Unit placement tips: position your slowing units so that they cover as much of the enemy path as possible, and place your primary damage dealers within that same area to maximize their effectiveness while enemies are continuously slowed. Obviously, make sure to give your units the best possible stats and evolve them as much as you can in order to guarantee victory.
How to Finish Act 2 in Anime Expeditions
To finish Act 2: Tartaros, you will have to overcome powerful defensive mechanics through sheer damage output rather than specialized counters. Reinforced enemies reduce all incoming damage by 30%, meaning there is no way to bypass their defenses. High damage units are thus all but essential for clearing waves efficiently in this act.
The Tartaros enemy introduces another dangerous gameplay mechanic. Namely, he consumes a nearby enemy every 10 seconds, granting himself health regeneration for the next 10 seconds, so defeating it quickly before it can recover large amounts of health is a top priority. In addition, Veil enemies create a significant obstacle by granting all nearby enemies within a five-range radius an extra shield equal to 200% of the Veil unit's health, making entire groups much more difficult to eliminate.
If you want to deal with these enemies effectively, focus on maximizing your team's damage with powerful units such as Elf Mage, Lady Giant, and Eighth Sword, while using support units like Forbidden Teacher or The Hero to further increase your damage output. Again, make sure to bring along a farm unit, like the Stone Alchemist. However, once a stable cash flow has been established, prioritize upgrading your main damage dealers instead of spending your money across multiple units to achieve the highest possible damage as quickly as possible.
Act 3 Completion Guide in Anime Expeditions
Completing Act 3: Sword will force you to prioritize damage over time units and take great care when positioning them. Explosive enemies detonate upon defeat, creating an explosion with a radius of 10 that stuns nearby units for two seconds, so your units should be positioned far enough from the path to avoid the blast while still remaining within attack range. Sprinter enemies are another threat, moving 45% faster than normal enemies despite having 20% less health, which will force you even further to pay attention to having enough early game damage.
However, the hardest challenge of this act comes from Sword enemies, which can respawn at the base up to two times unless they are defeated while affected by a damage over time effect. Because of this, bringing a reliable DOT unit is mandatory; Cursed Student and Crimson are excellent options, while Demon Cyborg serves as a more affordable alternative.
Unit placement tips: Place your DOT unit early along the path so it can apply its effect before your main damage dealers eliminate enemies, ensuring the Sword mechanic is completely negated. Finally, using a farm unit such as Stone Alchemist early on will provide the economy needed to quickly upgrade your primary damage dealers and keep pace with waves that rapidly ramp up in the difficulty department.
How to Beat Act 4 of the Villain Invasion Event in Anime Expeditions
In order to beat Act 4 of the Villain Invasion Event in Anime Expeditions, you will have to manage against all gameplay mechanics from the previous acts, while fending off several unique threats. Namely, The Dawn feature drastically reduces the health of enemies spawned by Splitter and Summoner enemies by 99%, but compensates by protecting them with five shields, making them deceptively difficult to kill. Furthermore, Splitter enemies divide into three smaller versions upon dying, with each inheriting 33% of the original enemy's health, while Summoner enemies continuously spawn additional foes every five seconds.
Alongside these new mechanics, you will be forced to cope with the returning Death, Sword, and Tartaros mechanics, requiring you to rely on all of the tactics we have described before. Due to the sheer number of gameplay mechanics that are active at once, we highly recommend taking on this act only if your team has at least 3 players, ideally 4.
With that said, coordinating the roles of your allies will be of paramount importance. For example, have one player focus on slowing and crowd control, with another prioritizing applying damage-over-time effects to disable the Sword mechanic. Furthermore, the remaining teammates can concentrate on maximizing damage and providing team buffs.
Finally, keep in mind that you must own a Crow Relic to earn Villain Coins and other completion rewards, although you can still participate in the stage without one to practice or help other players.
