ARX (Re:Rangers X, formerly known as Anime Rangers X) is not your standard tower defense game. Here, you summon units instead of placing down towers, and then they fight enemies for you. This adds a lot more complexity to the game, making unit choices that much more important. To help you with creating the perfect unit roster, here is our ultimate Re:Rangers X units tier list!
Summary
- The best DPS units in the game right now are Hawk Swordsman (Hunter), Esper Kid (???%), One Arm Pirate (Emperor), The Prodigy (Manifestation), Explosion Girl Mage, and Jane Bullet (Blast).
- The best Tank units are Sorcerer Assassin (Inventory), Bunny Girl (Lover), and Yoka (Stardust). Umbrella Fang and Bunny units are good in the early game.
- The best Support units are Empire's Queen, Hero: Banshoman and Radio Girl (Evangelist). Virtual Swordsman and Love Empress (Love) are decent support options as well.
- DPS, Tank, and Support units of the SS tier are the rulers of the Re:Rangers X Update 4.75 meta. If you’re just starting out, a team of the B-tier units will help you clear early to mid-game content.

Generally, higher-rarity and evolved units are the best. However, some units have cheap upgrades, high utility, or other features that make them worth considering. We've covered all that in the analysis section below, so do check that out.
Note: This tier list is a work-in-progress. As we test more unevo and evo units, the rankings will shift accordingly. Make sure you check back later, especially whenever an Re:Rangers X update drops.
Re:Rangers X Units Tier List Ranking Factors
- DPS: SPA (attack cooldown), Damage, Ability Damage, and Ability SPA (ability cooldown) affect unit DPS. Having high DPS is important for fast stage clears and also for some bosses that can heal (Easter Bunny, etc.).
- Tankiness/Speed: Evade Rate, Skill Resistance, and HP make a unit more tanky and a better frontline. Plus, the faster it is, the quicker it'll get into melee and start tanking.
- Utility/Passives: If a unit slows, stuns, burns, heals, or provides some other form of utility, it can be extremely helpful against some bosses/enemies.
- Spawn Cost: Spawn costs are extremely important, especially for tank units that die often; that's why you want them to be as low as possible. For one-placement units, though, placement costs aren't that important.
- Upgrade Cost: Until you max out your player stats (max money and money generation), some upgrades will be unattainable. Also, the quicker you can max out a unit, the sooner you'll start doing serious DPS.
- Ultimate Skills: Some units like Cursed Love, Solar Fist, and King Curses gain Ultimate Skills when max upgraded. You have to cast these skills manually, and they can massively help you with the stage clear.
- Element: Elements are especially important for Events, Raids, and other end-game content. With an elemental advantage, units will deal 2x damage. Check out the elements chart to see which elements counter which.

High DMG, SPD, HP, and Range + Inflicts Bleed on enemies, which also increases his DPS + One of the highest basic attack damage in the game + Very good against bosses because of high Basic attack damage and high base Crit Chance – Placement cost is decent, but upgrades are too expensive | Sovereign Capitalist Duplicator |
| Bunny (Full Moon) | + One of the few 'good' hybrid units (DPS x Tank) + Has a high chance of dodging enemy attacks and then stunning that enemy for a few seconds + Has high DPS potential, but performs better when used as a Tank or a secondary DPS – The short range causes problems against bosses | Sovereign Capitalist Duplicator |
| Strongest Man (Gura) | + One of the highest Ability Damage in the game + Excellent base HP, DMG, Speed, and Range + Gets a temporary stat boost on spawn + Excellent burst damage makes him highly effective against bosses – Difficult to obtain via Invasion (Bounty Hunt) | Sovereign Capitalist Duplicator |
| Claw Boss (Bloodlust) | + Very high base stats (DMG, HP, Speed, and Range) + Excellent DPS with Ability, especially once the passive kicks in + Becomes OP when you have Esper Kid (???%) on your team. – Deals damage to allies to proc certain effects, but it can backfire sometimes | Sovereign Capitalist Duplicator |
| Thorn Queen (Silent) | + Has very good passives that can scale her DPS and permanently apply Bleed to some enemies + Decent base HP and 50% chance to dodge all attacks + Reduce her Ability cooldown and increase her Range to unlock her full DPS potential | Sovereign Capitalist Duplicator |
| The Prodigy (Manifestation) | + Constantly regains Energy and uses it to scale all his stats + When using the Ultimate, copies and triggers the passives of the unit placed in the fourth slot + With the right build and slot usage, it can be a very good DPS unit | Sovereign |

S Tier
| Unit | Ranking Explanation | Best Traits |
|---|---|---|
| The Prodigy (Love) | + One of the best DPS units for early and mid-game content + Very good Damage, Range, and Speed + Fairly easy to obtain and completely worth upgrading to clear mid and sub-late game content – Falls off when you get to late-game content | Sovereign Duplicator Capitalist |
| Shadow Summoner (Ritual) | + The best CC unit in the game right now + Summons minions that can tank damage as well as deal damage to enemies + Good DPS on his basic attack, ability, and the summoned minions + A very good option if you're looking for a low-cost Tank x DPS hybrid | Sovereign |
| Holy Rider (Trap) | + Another decent Support unit that can stun enemies and deal decent damage + His passives give a massive Crit Rate and Crit Damage boost – High cooldowns are a bit of a deal-breaker, but can be reduced with the right gear and traits | Sovereign |
| Jane Bullet (Blast) | + A high-potential unit if you can get the right gear and traits + Gains multiple buffs (and debuffs) depending on his position + Gets a massive DPS boost whenever he uses his Ultimate – Slightly tricky to use because of the complex passives | Sovereign Duplicator |
| The Strongest (Void) | + Good stats all-around + Immune to CC abilities like stun and slow, and ignores the first knockdown + Buffs own Range and Damage after every ability use + Can stun all enemies on the map (including bosses) with his Ultimate – High placement and upgrade costs – Low movement speed. One of the slowest units in the game | Sovereign Duplicator Capitalist |
| Silver Reaper (Owl) | + Very good Range, Damage, and HP + Ignores the first knockdown per life + Very good Ability damage that also stuns enemies + Excellent against bosses because of the passive that grants a DPS boost against bosses – Expensive placement and upgrades – Damage eventually falls off the longer a stage goes on | Sovereign Duplicator Capitalist |
| The Fool (Star Ring) | + One of the strongest basic attack DPS units in the game + Gains a damage buff from all allies + Gain Crit Chance and Crit Damage buff with every successful hit – Weak Ability that causes a fall in DPS | Sovereign Duplicator Capitalist |
| Trash Collector (Cleaner) | + A decent DPS unit with good range and above-average base stats + Fairly easy to get for a Mythic unit – Doesn't perform as well without the suggested traits | Duplicator Seraph |
| Crimson Owl | + One of the best non-evo units in the game + Has a mix of effective DPS and Support abilities + Completely ignores the first knockdown and deals burst damage instead + Debuffs enemy speed by 25% – Lacks any good passive abilities, which causes a fall off in the late game | Sovereign Capitalist Seraph |
| Magma Admiral (Magu) | + A top-tier Fire unit that helps all Fire units in the team + Applies burn to all enemies within his range + A massive upgrade to the base version (which is B-tier at best) – Slow speed and low DPS ceiling make him slightly weaker than the other high-rarity DPS units | Sovereign Duplicator Capitalist |
| Virtual Swordsman (Stardust) | + One of the few units that gets stronger the longer a match lasts + Very easy to obtain and evolve for a Secret unit + At Level 50, becomes OP with 200% Crit Damage – Almost feels useless in quick matches (Story Mode) | Duplicator Capitalist Sovereign |
| Waka (Destruction King) | + Basic attack applies burn to enemies + When the bunr effect ends, it grants a permanent damage boost to Waka + Basic and Ultimate deal serious damage once the unit is fully upgraded – Low range and HP mean he'll struggle against bosses | Sovereign Capitalist |
| Joka (Truth) | + One of the best units to fight bosses because of its passive that grants high single-target DPS + Basic attacks will apply Burn to enemies, making him OP in teams that have multiple Burn units – Low scaling potential. Becomes useless once you enter late-game content | Sovereign |
| Yoka (Stardust) | + An excellent Tank with good Damage and Speed + Becomes invulnerable when the passive activates (100 Mass Stacks) + Decent DPS, making the unit valuable for boss fights – Only has 1 spawn cap, so the Capitalist or Duplicator trait becomes a must-have | Sovereign Capitalist Duplicator |
| Radio Girl (Evangelist) | + A meta Support unit with decent DPS and HP + Buffs the base Damage and Range of all allies nearby + Can reflect enemy attacks, which further increases her value in every team – Expensive placement and upgrades – Most of her passives only trigger when allies die | Capitalist Duplicator Sovereign |
A Tier
| Unit | Ranking Explanation | Best Traits |
|---|---|---|
| Black Mask (Scorpion) | + A good DPS unit to have early on + Has very good stats when upgraded + Damage scales off of enemy attacks + Much better than the base Black Mask (worth evolving in my opinion) – Becomes more and more expensive to upgrade, but the buffs are minimal | Capitalist Duplicator Sovereign |
| Solar Fist | + Extremely useful against bosses because of his 100% Crit Rate against bosses' passive + Simply a must-have in a team of Z fighters because of all the potential proc effects – Low scaling potential. Feels useless in difficult content – Most other Secret DPSs are better | Sovereign |
| Black Reaper | + One of the easiest to obtain units that'll make your team instantly stronger + Feels OP in early game content and against weak enemies – Once you get better units, Black Reaper feels absolutely useless – Performance in late-game content is horrible | Duplicator Capitalist |
| Fire Fist (Mera) | + Fairly easy to obtain (evolve Fire Fist, which has a high drop chance from the Standard Banner) + Offers good utility considering the placement and upgrading cost + Decent DPS with basic attack and ability + Can apply burn effect on enemies – Dies quickly, and performance falls off once you start playing higher difficulties | Duplicator Capitalist Seraph |
| Berns (Truth) | + A slightly complex unit that can do very well if you can trigger his passives + Damage increases as HP decreases + Can apply Burn on enemies + 100% chance to Crit enemies that have the Burn effect – Needs very specific units as allies for the best performance – Very tricky to use for beginners | Duplicator Capitalist Seraph |
| Stitchblade (Reaper) | + A decent unit for early to mid-game content + Offers good value for placement and upgrading cost + Good base speed and damage + Can apply Bleed to enemies, dealing DoT – Becomes completely useless later on | Duplicator Capitalist |
| Eclipse Sorcerer | + One of the best units for beginners + Damage scales off of enemies killed + Low placement and upgrade cost – Poor late-game scaling | Sovereign |
| Bunny Girl (Lover) | + An excellent Tank unit for the early game + Good speed means she actually does her job instead of hanging back + Has a passive that allows her to gain up to +35% Evade chance + Also increase evasion of all allies nearby – Low DPS makes her weaker than other meta Tank units | Duplicator Capitalist |
| Virtual Swordswoman | + A pure Support unit that buffs the damage of all allies when she dies + Performance and utility increases if Virtual Swordsman is also in the team – Not exactly a Meta Support unit – There are better Support options in the game, which you can get early and scale for late-game content | Duplicator Capitalist |
| Teriyaki (Awakened) | + A unique combination of Tank and Support abilities + Good base HP and gains more when allies are within range + Restores ally HP upon death + Gives a speed boost to allies within range – Very low DPS | Capitalist Sovereign |
| Muki (Clan Killer) | + One of the best units for early and mid-game content + Can work as main DPS, sub-DPS, and Support unit + Kills allies within range to increase her DPS. Highly useful if you don't have good units in the team – Once you have good units and reach late-game content, her ally-killing passive causes problems | Sovereign Capitalist |
B Tier
| Unit | Ranking Explanation | Best Traits |
|---|---|---|
| Legendary Saiyan (Super) | + Very high HP and placement count (3) + Very good ability damage + Gains +1% Range per attack (Max +20%) – Expensive to place and upgrade – Cheaper Mythic/Secret units are better tanks | Duplicator Capitalist Seraph |
| Fat Shadow | + Good Speed, Damage, and overall DPS + Gets multiple debuffs on spawn – Range is very short – Poor scaling. Becomes useless pretty quickly | Seraph Crackshot Sovereign |
| Cursed Lawyer (Confiscation) | + An excellent debuffer unit that's perfect for weakening strong enemies and bosses + Can debuff Damage and increase Ability Cooldown of enemies + Sword of Judgement also increases the enemy's Ability Cooldown and applies an HP-decreasing debuff – All passives are locked to allies staying within his range and taking damage | Sovereign |
| Pink Sniper | + Gear heavy unit. When equipped, all gears give +25% buffs + Increases Damage and Crit Chance based on the Accuracy of her attacks + Inflict Bleed on enemies to deal DoT – Expensive placement and upgrades – Low DPS ceiling | Sovereign Capitalist |
| Light Admiral (Pika) | + Very good Speed and DPS for a Legendary unit + Easy to get (evolve Light Admiral using Pika Fruit) + One of the best units to use against quick enemies (deals 100% extra damage) – Does not target slow enemies at all, which can cause problems – Needs to get kills to proc the passive | Sovereign Capitalist Seraph |
| Knight King (Chaos) | + Another excellent Tank unit for early-game content + Decent overall stats with above-average DPS – Placement and upgrade costs are too high – Higher-tier Tank units offer better performance at a lower cost | Duplicator Capitalist Seraph |
| Killer | + A low-cost Tank unit to use early on + Allows up to 10 placements at a time, which do a very good job of protecting allies + High base Speed means the unit is usually in front of all allies – Damage is almost non-existent | Duplicator Capitalist Seraph |
| Red Eye | + Primarily a Tank Unit that has high Crit potential + Also inflicts Curse on enemies using Critical Hits + Increases ally DPS by debuffing enemy evasion chance – There are better units that offer better Tank and DPS performance at lower costs | Duplicator Capitalist Seraph |
| Crimson Heiress (Devil) | + Single-slot Support Unit that can directly buff the unit you place in Slot 2 + Inherits all the stats of the unit in Slot 2. Used right, this can really be a game changer – Can't have any Traits | n/a |
| Love Empress (Love) | + A budget Support unit with low placement and upgrade costs + Stats are decent considering how easy it is to get her + Applies multipler debuffs to enemies including reduces Accuracy and increases Ability Cooldown + Can Stun enemies, including bosses – Better Support units are available – DPS is sub-par so you're only using her for the enemy debuffs | Capitalist Sovereign Duplicator |
C Tier
| Unit | Ranking Explanation | Best Traits |
|---|---|---|
| Molten Phantom | + Decent DPS x Tank combo for beginners + Especially useful against bosses because he can inflict Slow – Expensive placement and upgrades | Capitalist Sovereign |
| Killer Candy | + Easy to obtain (SS1 Battlepass) + Has good HP and can work as a Tank early on – Expensive placement and upgrades considering the stats – Plenty of other options that give better DPS, Support, and Tank utility | Duplicator Capitalist Seraph |
| Crow Ninja | + Applies Burn on enemies to deal DoT + Decent DPS performance in early Story Mode stages + Pretty easy to get – Placement cost is too high (2,000 Yen) – Base stats are low. Need to invest in upgrades to get the best out of him | Sovereign Violent Duplicator |
| Umbrella Fang | + A cheap and easy to use Support unit for early game + Wth this unit placed, enemies will take +10% damage from all allies + Gives a decent DPS as well, but only for early-game content – You can get better Support and DPS units later on so don't invest too much | Duplicator Capitalist Seraph |
| Fortune Sorcerer (Jackpot) | + Very easy to get early and has decent DPS potential + Passive gives completely random buffs – Heavily RNG-reliant. His buffs can make or break a round – The uncertainty can really hinder your progress | Capitalist Violent |
| Hero’s Angel (Chrono) | + An excellent unit to have on Fire teams + Applies Stun to enemies that already have the Burn effect + Stats scale when taking damage – Damage, HP, and Speed are decent at best – Placement cost is way too high considering the utility – Other Support units have better support abilities, passives, and enemy debuffs | Capitalist Violent |
D Tier
| Unit | Ranking Explanation | Best Traits |
|---|---|---|
| Voidmask | + Executes low-HP enemies (including bosses) – Does not offer much against strong enemies – Placement and upgrade cost is too high considering the DPS/overall utility – Upgrades and leveling up don't make much of a difference | Don't Reroll |
| Sand Ninja | + Decent performance as a Tank unit early on due to high Range and Speed + Low placement and upgrade cost, and high spawn cap – Falls flat once you progress through the game and try different game modes | Don't Reroll |
| Leaf Ninja (Sage) | + Another good early-game Tank option + Similar stats to Sand Ninja with added Evasion – Becomes useless once you reach sub-late and late-game | Don't Reroll |
Stitchblade | + Can evolve into a pretty good unit + Okayish DPS and other stats – One of the worst Legendary units before you evolve it | Duplicator Capitalist Seraph |
Docter Pirate | + Insanely good range – All stats except for range are low – Worse than some Rare and Epic Units – One of the worst Legendary | Don't Reroll |
| Light Admiral | – Very bad stats all around – Worse than some Rare and Epic Units – One of the worst Legendary units | Don't Reroll |
| Iron Inquisitor | + Solid HP – Very bad DPS and all most other stats – One of the worst Epic units | Don't Reroll |
