When you first join the game, you'll receive a random family name. To get a new family, you'll need to use Spins, which can be spent to roll for families. There's no way to influence which family you'll get, but you can use Avatar Rogue Benders codes to receive Spins for free.

Common families in Avatar Rogue Benders offer no buffs to the player. As such, all families in the following tier list are rare or better. Moreover, each family belongs to a certain bending type; you may need to reroll your character's bending to match your family, especially if the family affects bending in some way.

Best Families in Avatar Rogue Benders

The following are the best families in Avatar Rogue Benders, based on the stat increases they provide as well as their effects on bending.

Sozin

Sozin outclasses every other family in Avatar Rogue Benders, offering a sizable increase to your max chi as well as buffing your meditation. The biggest draw of the Sozin family, however, is its access to the Lightning Strike bending technique. Lightning Strike is a powerful attack that moves quickly and deals a hefty amount of damage, catching most opponents off guard. The only drawback to Sozin, however, is its rarity; with a 5% chance to spin, you'll likely have to spend some Robux in order to get this family.

Tarrlok

For waterbenders, Yakone is an excellent family, allowing you to bloodbend at any time of day instead of restricting you to full moons. The added buff to your meditation is also helpful, increasing the wisdom you receive over time. While Tarrlok is highly comparable to Yakone—offering the same bloodbending effect—it is slightly less rare and has a better wisdom-per-keys rate.
